CJ Abrams Hypothetical Trade

Want to start this off as I don't think this trade would happen as I don't think the Nationals are going to trade Abrams but here it is anyway.

BTV value in parentheses 

Brewers Receive - CJ Abrams (50.1)

Nationals Receive - Cooper Pratt (28.8), Jeferson Quero (24.1), Tobias Myers (6)

BTV has this is a slight overpay by the Brewers with Brewers giving up $58.9M surplus value and receiving $50.1 surplus value

I think the big question would be if Turang can play SS or if the Brewers think they could fix Abrams defense.

I think the value is right for your trade but I don’t think the Nats accept this.  It would have to be someone like Pena or Made over Pratt and I don’t see the Brewers doing that and not should they.

Yeah that's certainly possible and I'd agree the Brewers are not going to trade Made or Pena. I do think this would be appealing for Nats as it gives them guys much closer to MLB and I think the Nats probably want to build their next contender around James Wood.

I think they want to build around Abrams.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they try and sign him to a long term deal.  But who knows what the new GM will do going forward maybe he doesn’t see Abrams as a centerpiece and trades him.  I still think they would want someone better than Pratt as the headliner.

It's more co-headliners. You're getting 2 Top 100 guys in Pratt and Quero who are similarly valued. If you want a Made/Pena headliner, you aren't going to get a second piece as big as a Quero.

The value is fine but I would have to feel confident that Abrams could play 3rd or 2nd.
