Maybe not, but you certainly are starting with Made AND Pena.

Respectfully, I disagree. The proven MLB performance of Skenes is the trump card. There is zero developmental risk. Presuming health, he IS the best pitcher in baseball. What are the odds that even ONE of Made and Pena match that level of superstardom?

In order to justify trading a generational talent, your team simply must get better, somehow.

Not necessailly.   You can start with Pratt and Quero and add in Logan Henderson, DL Hall, and Tobias Myers and prob get there.

It sounds like we are disagreeing... but we aren't.  I was responding to someone stating that they need MLB talent.  I'm merely mentioning that a package would need to start with our top 2 MiLB players and then probably empty the rest of the top 10.

But the whole thing is a silly notion anyway.  Pittsburgh would be better off just working to extend him now.  Their fanbase would revolt if they traded him away.

At this point there isn't much reason to keep Skenes if your the Pirates.

They still gotta sell season tickets.

If I'm the Pirates, Miz and Chourio would be where I'd start. Otherwise no reason not to hold him for another year or two and let the Dodgers and Yankees duel it out for him. What the Brewers could offer now I don't think would be a world different than what the Dodgers could offer later.
