Brewers signed RHP Julian Merryweather to a minor league contract

 

Merryweather opted out of his minor league deal with the Mets at the beginning of August, and now he’ll add organizational depth to the Milwaukee pitching staff. The Brewers will need to add him to the 40-man if they deem him worthy of the active roster.

This is the type of guy that we are great with. He throws 96 (98 or so in his really good 23 season) with a decent 2nd pitch. I guarantee we add a cutter or something this offseason and tweak him back up a mph or 2. He has had some injury unluckiest but is an easy guy to see a path back towards success.
