The arbitrary lines people draw are just ridiculous. Throw a ball at a guy's head 99mph, hey that's baseball. Storm the mound and swing, boys being boys. DX suck it sign, whoa, post-game callout from your own manager, THAT'S overboard.

I laughed. It was funny. It's supposed to be fun and it was funny.

Counterpoint:

It was stupid and childish.

Adrenaline can make you do stupid things.

If one of my 12Us did that, there would be a conversation and consequences. Guys in their 20s and 30s making 8 figures. Meh. How boring it is when nobody shows any emotion. I wouldn't call it mature, but simply what it is. An entertainer doing something dumb that made me laugh.

I don't begrudge anyone who laughed.  And I don't care when players celebrate.  I'm an act-like-you've-been-there-before guy, but I get that sports are emotional.

Just keep the opponents out of it as much as possible would be my take.

This is also true.  It doesn't free you of the consequences though.

Players showing emotion is fine, I don't think acting like a 90's wrestling heel is showing emotion

Counterpoint, insinuating that something bad might happen to an opponent is also stupid and childish but a lot of you don't have big words for Marmol.

Correct, he reminds me of Buck Showalter.

What Abner did was silly. And the whole "it's good for players to show emotion" argument falls apart when you consider the game was essentially over. That was Uribe falling into "all about me" mode.

Marmol also seems like a massive punk. And I've thought that for a long time. Honestly surprised the Cardinals haven't fired him, but whatever. They want to keep that guy around, after he's had one good year in five, be my guest.

This whole thing is a big whatever to me. I'm glad Murph called out Abner, and now everyone should move on, hopefully lessons learned.

Good outing from Patrick. Made the one big mistake pitch, but otherwise a nice 4 innings.

Hopefully the offense can manage to scratch a few. I'm kind of feeling a Brewers walkoff today.

So far all they’ve been doing is walking off to the dugout after striking out.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I am sveumrules will correct me but Mitchell strikes out too much.

I mean yes but dude has been one of the bright spots of the lineup for the last week and a half.

Can we please, please get some better guys at the bottom of the lineup than Luis Rengifo and David Hamilton?

Well you could lengthen the lineup and play the guy with the 934 ops. That would help.
