What’s all the complain’n about….Sanchez homered, Mitchell doubled, Rengifo walked, Perkins singled, and Ortiz walks (RBI). The bottom of the Brewer’s order has come through again.

Drohan is pretty clearly the #3 starter for this team.  Love this kid.  Unflappable.  Steady.  Get Henderson back and a playoff run of Miz, Harrison, Drohan and Henderson.  And run it back next year.

Murphy is a great overall manager.  We simply win (regular season) games u see his leadership and a clip that very few can match.

He’s an average gameday manager though.  Still puts him in the top 5, but if he could get into the top 1/3 or even top 5 for gameday management, then we’d really be cooking.

unfortunately, to win the in playoffs we need an elite manager in all facets of the game given the talent gap.

What about the GM who’s suppose to provide quality players for Murphy to manage. Arnold needs to do his part and needs to take some of responsibility, too.

Hey hey, that's a Menard's Big Inning!

And a Woodman’s 6th Inning HR!  Anyone know the winner?

Is he though?

The Brewers have scored the 4th most runs in baseball since Murphy took over. From reading these game threads it seems like many would scoff at the notion of the Brewers even being a Top Ten offense (their 103 wRC+ is 11th in MLB so far this year). Whatever qualms some might have with his lineups, they score more runs than they should given the underlying numbers.

Since Murphy took over Brewers relievers are 2nd in MLB with +19.22 Win Probability Added, a healthy dose below CLE in 1st at +27.07 and a slightly less healthy does ahead of ATL in 3rd at +13.86. Does he make the right call every time? Of course not, no manager does. But his calls work out at a higher rate than all but one other manager in MLB over the last two plus years.

There's already a whole thread for that.

No one else on the brewers team makes the play that Ortiz just made

Rumors of his defense's demise have been greatly exaggerated.

Drohan with a bad decision on the underhand toss with a speedy runner there. Our defense has been mediocre to poor the last several days. We aren’t as sharp as I expect to see on defense these days. Otherwise, Brewers are on fire.

You know I am a big fan, @sveumrules, but you can’t win with these mopes.

Drohan obviously has earned more starts,

It might be helpful to separate his starts from Harrison’s so that one team doesn’t face both of them on back to back days.

Though two lefties against the Phillies next weekend would be useful.

Heck of an outing for Drohan!  Really should be 6 IP 1 ER thanks if we account some generous scoring for the offense and brewers shaky defense in the 1st.

hopefully the bullpen can get us 9 outs

Really could have been 6.1 and 0 ER. I think Chourio would tell you he should hit that throw.

He does however have a couple big rips finally today.

He’s that co-worker that is appreciated for his brawn because the brains are not much.
