I mean the pitching is right there Top 5 in both ERA and FIP. It’s just a different mold this year compared to years past. This year the Brewers are as top heavy as they have been in a while. Clear spots for improvement on both sides. Getting healthier on the pitching side and prospects coming up on the hitting side should help somewhat but probably will need to make some additions at the deadline

In what world does it make sense to keep playing Frelick this version instead of Vaughn? I just don't get it. This Frelick is not a major league regular. Just play the best players and let's not overthink this. You score 8 you should win but you needed 10.

The season stats for the pitching are just fine. In May the pitching was spectacular while the offense was mediocre.

But the season stats for the staff as a whole are not very meaningful now because of how many of the pitchers who contributed to those stats are either on the ILor are showing signs of wear.

Hopefully some of the pitchers on the IL can return and be effective sometime in the next few weeks, or at least after the All Star break. But, in the meantime it’s going to be a struggle to cover innings.
