That is a horrible sample size and a minimum of 5 of these are quite a bit more than the France launch angle. Also surely under way different conditions. Simply comparing launch angle + EV of two hits is going to have a massive difference based on many things.

Statcast is nice, but not perfect. Even less perfect when the ball never arcs (part of the calculation) and never has any kind of natural downward trajectory (also apart of the calculation). There is a ton of assumption and guesswork in that France Statcast figure. The margin of error is surely beyond the distance needed to be a HR.

But of course, it doesn’t matter in the end. No way to know for sure either way with any confidence. There is also the problem of was it even fair had it hit nothing.

Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t…but that is baseball. We could run hypotheticals on had the ump not given us all those trash calls too.

Murphy said after the game that perhaps the ball that hit a roof cable was actually Ueck swatting it away.... I don't think so Murph, that just seems silly.
