wow, how many fellas can we have pitch their way out of the rotation this spring? santos is just awful.

It's surprising no one has brought up the idea of a four-man yet.

brett, i'm all for doing whatever will give the crew the best chance to win, though i doubt that any manager would be allowed to run a 4 man rotation anymore.

I find it hard to believe that Ned is still planning on using the platoon when Helms is hitting worse then both Branyun and Cirillo it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

I'd love a 4 man rotation if we had 4 horses. But we have two, and there exists a possibility that both may have been career years last year. We just don't have the staff for it

As I post this, the number 3 starter has now allowed 19 earned runs and 33 hits in 14 innings this spring.

 

Jim Powell, by the way, said Saturday, that "for the most part, Santos has had a good spring".

I really wish we could go a day or two without removing Santos from the rotation. He is gonna make a lotta guys eat crow when the season starts. On the other hand, our bullpen is going to be atrocious. We have nothing in the pen to speak of, nothing. Ok Adams, but otherwise, nothing.

Just curious, what makes you think Santos is going to have any kind of success? His stellar career? His awesome 2nd half last season? His stupendous spring? Don't get me wrong, I hope you're right, I just don't see any reason to think Count Dracula is ever going to be any good.

I haven't been listening to today's game, so I really don't know who all of these runs are coming off of, but it appears that our bullpen will be a major concern this year. I know it's just spring training, but I think we may be missing Kolb, Viscy (I never thought i would say this) more than what we originally thought. Hope I'm wrong!

carlos lee keeps his back elbow up and gets sweet extension. I enjoy that as a spectator.

seems to me they should have Glover and Obbie in the Rotation and move Santos to the Pen.

 

The pen will have to step up big time
