the umpire's horribly large stike zone is going to keep lawrence in this game at least 3 innings longer than he would have been - even major league hitters aren't going to pound a pitcher throwing garbage when he's getting 4"+ off both corners, and a mid-shin high pitch is a strike

Feilder shouldn't have argued with the ump after the first because i'm sure that did nothing but make the zone larger.

To be fair, he is being consistent, which is really all you can ask.

not saying he was inconsistent - capuano's gotten gift calls too...what i'm saying is that a pitcher with below average stuff can be effective when the strike zone is enormous - as a brewer fan i'd rather have a tight strike zone called for both sides when the opposing pitcher is throwing beach balls to the plate
