Wow it feels great to be one-half game out of first, and let me tell you how Capuano is getting the business from the guys in the clubhouse. Mock champagne baths, rookie cream face-pies… Villy pitched a strong 4 innings, but was intelligently lifted by Ned for a situational pinch hit that reaped huge dividends. Chris was opportunistically there to cruise for 3 robust innings and pick up the W.

 

 

Penny predictably pitched a whale of a game and Lou was ejected for some more patented take-the-media-heat-off the players. Oh Lou you swarmy old coot.

I love the pick up of Ray King!! Unfortunately, I have to admit I haven't looked at his numbers yet, but I always loved the way he pitched (and, frankly, his LEADERSHIP) in the past! Did he clear waivers?

I only watch now to see how the crew can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The imploding bullpen is a great constant, coupled with the clutch pass ball yesterday was a nice addition.
