Brandon is really high on "The Hurricane". He thinks that if he's given the opportunity, he could have a career path similar to Luis Castillo. Too bad it will not likely be as a Brewer.

Oh I have every expectation that Iribarren will be a Brewer probably starting in 2009. That doesn't mean he will be a starter.

 

Once the core of young players become arbitration eligible, they will not have $2-3 million dollar bench players like they have now.

Another note about Brandon's list: He gives heavier consideration to players he feels will actually be "Future Brewers", i.e. they are more likely to make the majors with the club, even if it is in a lesser role.

 

For example, he thinks Dennis Sarfate could have a role in our bullpen this year or next and he also thinks J.D. Closser could become Estrada's backup in 2008.
