Dave Riske

Dave Riske declined his part of a mutual option with the Royals and becomes a free agent. He is 31 and had a sub 3 ERA in 60+ innings. This is a guy that we need to add to our bullpen. He would be a great 7th or 8th inning guy. Rotoworld says he would be looking to get somewhere around a 3 year/12 mil deal.

If they sign Riske which would Upgrade the Pen but i was also thinking could he close games if we lose COCo

Very weak year for relievers, Riske will get a ton, probably $4-5M per. Most of the relief help will come from trades, I think.

I'd do a 3 year 12 million deal -- especially if we lose Linebrink and/or Cordero.

Riske had a FIP of 4.40. He had a strand rate of 90% this year. He isn't a sub 3.00 ERA type pitcher. He isn't terrible but if you're expecting someone to dominate he'll be a disappointment.
