54 all right now...so far a very very well played game by both sides. Marquestte is a team that is so guard dominated that it has a chance to win vs. any team it plays, but it could also have some real clunkers thrown in when the shots do not fall, and it gets out-rebounded or the bigs get in foul trouble.

I agree. Burke has looked pretty good in the middle tonight, though. It would sure be nice to have SOME presence down low to take the pressure off of the guards.

Man, this would be a nice way to start the season. Just don't seem to be getting the calls tonight, though. Right on the cusp of grabbing the lead, but can't quite get there.

I won't blame the refs for a loss in a game where Marquette had chances to win that game, but it did feel to me that Duke got more breaks from the refs than Marquette did.

Yeah definitely. I'm not a Marquette fan but just watching that it amazed me how many calls Duke was getting. Duke was in the double bonus with something like 8 or 9 minutes left. That's just a lot of ticky tac garbage that doesn't need to be called.

Marquette really got thrown out of their game because of all the early garbage calls again McNeal and Hayward. Their foul trouble allowed Duke to drive the lane almost at will. One thing that really irritated me was Duke's players, especially Kyle Singler, flopping every time an offensive player made the slightest contact with them. The refs, for the most part, didn't seem to go for it, but its annoying seeing people playing defensive like that instead of bodying up and playing tough.

To start: I am not a hard-core Marquette fan...I barely notice when they are on TV. I did, however, watch this game. What a bunch of Duke-loving crap there was out on the court. The refs were speaking and joking around with the Duke players, chatting up Coach K and even delaying the game a couple of times to get their conversations finished with the revered coach. Again, what a bunch of crap! The blood was really POUNDING through my veins with hatred for the arrogant, trust-fund babies from Duke.
