Why wasn't Raffy charged with perjury?

Any help with this one? Was there a reason offered for why they didn't charge him with perjury? Me and my friends were talking about it and none of us can remember.

This may seem like a dumb question, but it's the first thing that came to mind - Did anyone ever prove he had taken steroids prior to the date when he said he hadn't? The failed test came after that testimony, I don't think they could use that to charge him in this case.

Good call, hadn't thought about that. I'm assuming you're right too. Even though I'm not so sure he didn't use them before the testimony, but obviously if the date of the failed test was after, I'm also assuming that it wouldn't be possible to charge him with perjury.

Yeah, that one is kind of like Al Capone going down for tax evasion. Um....we think he might have done some other stuff too...

Besides the above making the most sense, perhaps he was granted immunity for testifying.

Not to mention the fact that he was testifying in front of congress not a grand jury.

Its possible they weren't sworn in before they went before Congress, but generally Congressional testimony is under oath just like a grand jury.

Long story short, they decided they had insufficient evidence to charge him.
