  1. For every Florida and Montreal, there is a Tampa Bay and Detroit.
  2. At least we can take away one positive from this game. Dave Burba seems to have found his niche in middle relief. Still a small sample size, but the difference has been night and day. Of course, Burba was aided by the fact that the Expos lineup was probably tired out from being on base so much.
  3. yup, we noticed it too http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  4. First Jason Shelley has to endure 2+ years in the independent leagues, and now his starts don't even count. talk about having the deck stacked against you.
  5. Franklin has a 7.50 ERA against Montreal in 1 career appearance. Brewerfan.net/Statfox Matchup Info: www.brewerfan.net/matchup.jsp Wayne Franklin Player Profile: www.brewerfan.net/ViewPla...ayerId=368
  6. Obermueller pitching well, Luis dominating AAA, Doug Davis with a great start, another gem by Housman.... What's happening here??

  10. EY's not in the lineup. Speculate.
  11. Kinney will get his chance to pitch well against a weak NY Mets offense. If he doesn't, his hold on a rotation spot will be shaky at best. A day game on the trade deadline. It's safe to say Doug probably won't be taking this one in http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Brewerfan Matchup Info: www.brewerfan.net/matchup.jsp Matt Kinney Player Profile: www.brewerfan.net/ViewPla...ayerId=380
  12. If Martinez is a Sept callup, no major league service time will count against him.
  13. [ 4. Rusch ( I seriously think that the Brewers will hang onto him. The way he has been pitching after the all-star break, I have no problem with this.) ] If the Brewers pick up his 5M option for 2004, I will take down this site.
  14. Game Time: 6PM CST Brewerfan.net Matchup Info:www.brewerfan.net/matchup.jsp Wes Obermueller Player Profile: www.brewerfan.net/ViewPla...ayerId=590
  15. HAHA.... Cristian Guerrero... He started the 2001 season in the Cal League, and is still there hitting a mediocre .254/.314/.397. Maybe i'll pat him on the head and laugh when he's bagging my groceries.
  16. Indianapolis 2, Richmond (Braves) 0 (bot 7th) Looie's rolling along.... Gets out of a bases loaded 1-out jam in the top of the 6th with a pair of K's. update: close the books on Martinez... 6 IP, 0 ER, waiting on the rest of the numbers.
  17. The Mets got garbage.... hopefully the unloaded some salary with the deal.
  18. See Geno.... if YOU can't tell the difference between beaming and beaver do YOU have a credibility issue? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  19. [ Jim would probably call him 'a character' and possibly 'misunderstood.' It makes you wonder what to believe at the time he says it, and that draws you back to the credibility issue. ] Yeah, Geno... just like when JP mentioned Wendy's "beaver"??? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  20. The "Link Report" is a daily series of posts managed by Jim Goulart (MassBrew) which corral all of the day-to-day information associated with minor league baseball as it relates ot the Milwaukee Brewers organization. Information in these reports includes: - box scores - website reports - newspaper reports - commentary The Link Report archive is a way to isolate these posts after a period of time has elapsed so that they can easily be searched and referenced.
  21. [ Playoffs are great but development is better. ] I think Melvin believes playoffs ARE development. You can't teach winning, you can only experience it.
  22. Wow, what do you know? I'm up to $31.15 total. $28.00 for 5 new registrations $1.85 for 37 bids $0.80 for 16 bids on sports I think between Peavey's activity and adding the eBay boxes to the player profiles, I might actually get my first check cut to me. (They wait until you have $20.00 of revenue before they cut you a check). Whatever the case may be, the eBay clickthrus and bids have gone up dramatically in the past couple of months.
  23. in actuality, I forgot my ebay password, so it's laziness on my part. I'll escalate my ambition for you, tho http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  24. [ an inning of relief is an inning of relief, whether its in the 7th, 8th, or 9th. ] While factually that is true, I believe some pitchers have a better time pitching when they have a defined role. Some pitchers are great for intense situational pitching (makes me think of Mike Myers, and the Chad Fox of old), and some pitchers just thrive as closers. I think that if you have the right mix of personalities, a closer by committee can work. But some closers probably feel like being the last word on a game gets them pumped up.
