  1. Yikes... looks like my programming wasn't updating the Wins column correctly. I've fixed the problem...
  2. Quevedo will never be called up... Unless Melvin is high, this guy is terrible, release him now! Why? What's the point of releasing Ruben? It's not inconceivable to think that Ruben might bounce back to be an adequate 5th or possibly 4th starter. If we release Ruben, do we just sign some other shmuck off the street to satisfy people's emotions? Believe me, Doug Melvin doesn't stick with players just because the former regime did. If he didn't think Ruben had upside, he'd be gone. People don't pay people large amounts of money to be GM's for no reason. I don't mean to go off on you, but we don't lose anything by keeping Ruben in AAA. It's his last option year.... If after year he doesn't cut it, he's off the 40-man and probably out of the organization.
  3. Not to spoil the Prince Parade, but it's worth noting that he only has 1 walk in over 30 ABs so far this season. It's hard to say that's a big deal with him hitting over .440, but you certainly don't want to see his strike zone adjustment wither with lack of use against inferior pitching. Gotta love Hardy's line score 2-3 and 2 walks. Please also note that he only has _5_ k's. It's not that he doesn't know how to judge the strike zone..... it's that he's able to use anywhere within the bat's reach as his preferred hitting zone http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. What kind of crap is this??? 3-5 with only a double? No HR for Prince?? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif The man isn't going to be tested until he gets to AA.
  5. Foster's been hitting well in High Desert, and I know that the organization is high on Foster's defensive skills and game-calling abilities. He's basically Brian Moon with a slightly weaker arm but much higher offensive potential. I would assume that Foster would get promoted to Huntsville sooner than later. High Desert is probably a good place for Kade to get his reps in, as the environment will take the pressure off his bat some he can concentrate on catching.
  6. Let's face facts here. Brian Moon was 25 years old and in his 4th year at AA. He's never going to be a #1 catcher. He could be an MLB defensive specialist, but that's not even a certainty. I'm know he was a great guy and that the Huntsville faithful got attatched to him. You have to believe a very capable Brian Foster behind the plate led to this move as well. I don't mean to diminish his importance to Stars fans. It's very similar to when Jared Mathis was released. Good luck to Brian wherever his travels take him next, and hopefully the Stars fans can get over the sting of this transaction. I know many of us organization-centric fans can de-personalize the moves that affect the team-centric fans in the minor league cities.
  7. Wow... Prince Fielder went yard in both games... In limited time, it's looking eerily similar to his numbers in the Pioneer League. Gotta expect that if Brad Nelson continues to hit well, there could be some well-deserved moves at the all-star break. He's now hit as many homeruns in 11 at bats this year as he hit in 112 at bats last year in Beloit.
