  1. I'll take the three runs but man this lineup is going to have to single teams to death. The no power and lack of hard contact is a big problem.
  2. Congrats to Yeli for hitting the ball in the air this time. Nothing behind it, but ya know.. baby steps.
  3. Kevin Mench would hit 3rd, and possibly 4th - at the same time - if he were on this team.
  4. Someone needs to be the scapegoat but it's still just a team full of bad hitters and AAAA players. Yelich might just be done physically, Contreras is hurt, and Chourio looks like a streaky hitter who's lost his confidence. Maybe a hitting coach can straighten those three out. Turang is what he is and no real complaints about his bad. Frelick is a light-hitting on-base guy who doesn't seem to be doing much of that, either. Hoskins, fine. The rest of the lineup? Junk. Bauers has had a nice start but he's getting way too many ABs. There's just no depth. Last night pinch-hitting Collins for Ortiz, while seems like a good idea, is a good indictment of where this team really is.
  5. Thanks. Easy for me to say sitting here but I don't have a problem with those comments. Nothing he said is wrong or that harsh; then again, I'm not Jackson. You could see in his first AB last night his body language was off and I didn't even know about these comments until just now. Murphy is right here. Jackson needs to be more selective, and maybe he's trying to put the team on his back or maybe he's not seeing it, but he needs to settle down and see a few more pitches and slow it down a bit.
  6. Yeah it's super lame at this point; we're also supposed to be relying on guys who can't stay healthy and who had mixed results even when they *were* here, aside from a healthy Woodruff, a few starts from Civale, and some good outings for Ashby last year. It's just not a good team right now.
  7. Great job Ortiz. You get out of the way of a slow breaking ball only to strike out. Wonderful.
  8. I agree with this. Plus, talent infusion can't hurt. Do not want to give up big pieces to get it, though.
  9. How does this have anything to do with my post? Plenty of people complained about the offense and the coaches last year, especially when Rhys and Jackson weren't hitting.
  10. I honestly don't know what any hitting coach can do for Ortiz and Durbin. The others who *can* hit just need to start hitting. Contreras being hurt is what it is; you wish Quero could play to get a cup of coffee and let Contreras rest. Yelich needs to step up.
