LaPorta signs! Text as follows: MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers have signed 2007 First-Round Draft Pick Matt LaPorta to a contract, it was announced today by Special Assistant to the General Manager/Director of Scouting Jack Zduriencik. The signing marked the 29th of the Brewers 46 draft picks during the 2007 First-Year Player Draft. LaPorta, a senior at the University of Florida, is a two-time SEC Player of the Year (2007 and 2005). This past season, he hit .402 with 20 home runs, 52 RBI and 55 walks. He was a member of the 2005 USA Baseball National Team and was recently named a finalist for the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award given to the nation's premier amateur baseball player. LaPorta was a four-year letterwinner at Charlotte HS (Fla.) and earned second-team All-State honors as a senior in 2003. LaPorta was selected in the 14th round of the 2006 MLB First-Year Player Draft and in the 14th round of the 2003 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Chicago Cubs, but did not sign. milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com...p&c_id=mil

Do you have a link for the audio to the Phillies game? (co-worker is a Phillies fan) -
Come on Braun! Win that job.

No I mean Packers - as in Pack-it-in, we're ready for the draft.
-
I don't think you can classify what the Packers are doing as "football." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

Well? When do we get the responses?

What are you thoughts on Gillespie? I was estatic when he landed him in the 3rd round. Does anything else think he might see the majors in 2008?
-
Thanks. I've checked it out here and there for awhile now. Good site and lots of good information about the Brewers.

Thanks. I'm new so I don't know if we can have them or not. I'll remove it if have to.

What are your goals for the minor league season? What's one thing you really want to improve upon? How is it adjusting to moving around the country playing ball? Helena to West Virginia, Brevard Co. to Huntsville. Obviously you continued to swing a hot bat, but does it take some time to feel comfortable playing in one area?
