  1. Apparently Gint was a late scratch... Hall is playing second and batting second. Did anybody catch a reason for that? ~Bill

  3. He has been treated different from everyone else for no real explainable reason except to smoothe Doug's ego. He's left-handed. ~Bill
  4. Fun game. http://img28.exs.cx/img28/962/krynzel.jpg G'night. ~Bill
  5. Honestly, I'm more interested in seeing Albert Pujols than the Brewers. I'll still root for them, but I haven't seen the Cardinals in person yet this year and it'll be cool to see the World Series Champs. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ~Bill
  6. 09/21/2004 - Brewers (Santos) vs. Cardinals (Marquis) I'm going to subject myself to the torture in person tonight, maybe for the last time this season. Hopefully Victor feels comfortable under the night sky. Go team. ~Bill

  8. Stop diving into first-base, Brady! Have you learned nothing from Junior Spivey? It doesn't get you there faster, and you're going to get hurt... AND Nedley doesn't condone the practice. STOP! Thank you, ~The Management
  9. 2-2 after 6. JDLR: 5 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 3 BB, 1 K, 85 pitches (44 strikes), 5 GB, 8 GB ~Bill
  10. Solid job by JDLR tonight... even sans Edmonds and Rolen, this St. Louis lineup is pretty good. Hopefully he can build on this the next time out and end the year on a high note. Mark Johnson's done a nice job tonight, too, BTW. I dare say he's a better defensive catcher than both Moeller and Bennett, although he did double-clutch a throw down to second. Even if he's not better, he's at least in their same class... I wouldn't have a problem with him as the backup if we acquire someone good to start (like Miller). ~Bill
  11. A two-strike suicide squeeze? C'mon, Nedley. That's just dumb. ~Bill
  12. "He's looking a little tired," Yost said. "We'll give him some days off this series and have him ready to go against Houston." From Adam McCalvy's latest notes column. ~Bill
  13. 09/20/2004 - Brewers (De La Rosa) vs. Cardinals (Morris) Go team. ~Bill
  14. Brad Lidge is unbelievable. I don't understand how anyone *ever* scores any runs against him. High 90s fastball, low-90s slider, great control. Great game, great series, totally disappointing outcomes. ~Bill
  15. Nastiness from Mike Adams in front of his hometown Texas fans. I'm sure that was great for him, attoning for a tough outing July 23rd at the Juice Box. Nice job, Mike! ~Bill
  16. Indeed. Here are the ages of the Brewers' starting position players. Player Age -------------------- Scott Podsednik - 28 Keith Ginter - 28 Brady Clark - 31 Geoff Jenkins - 30 Lyle Overbay - 27 Russell Branyan - 28 Craig Counsell - 34 Chad Moeller - 29 -------------------- Average Age: 29.375 That's not "young". I hope Tony Gwynn, Jr. is reading brewerfan and can relay that to his dad. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ~Bill
  17. The sad thing is, this is the same broadcasting team that covered the Brewers on Thursday. ~Bill

  19. "If you don't get to Roger Clemens early, you're not going to get to him because he settles in." -- Gary Thorn and Tony Gwynn (paraphrased) Roger Clemens in 2004: Situation OpAVG OpOBA OpSLG OpOPS ---------------------------------------- Inning 1 .153 .265 .235 .500 Inning 1-3 .213 .293 .332 .625 Inning 4-6 .232 .295 .363 .658 Inning 7-9 .230 .313 .257 .570 ---------------------------------------- The 7-9 is a very small sample (74 ABs), but basically Clemens is tough in the first and then gradually easier to hit as he progresses through the game. ~Bill
  20. That was highly un-fun. A hit, a stolen base, a walk, and no runs. Oh well. ~Bill
  21. Dunkin Donuts. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif Actually, he's from SoCal and I believe he's lived there his whole life. ~Bill

  24. Bill, is it OK that I don't care about the Ryder Cup? It's difficult to stir up even the slighest of patriotic feelings as we compete against the entire continent of Europe. Sure... I don't particularly care about the Olympics, with the exception of baseball/softball and basketball, and I only care about those because I care about those sports in general. I'm a huge golf fan, so the Ryder Cup is a pretty big deal. I like a lot of the European players better than the Americans, though, so it's hard to muster a whole lot of competitive fire. The US team got rolled, though, and it was pretty embarassing. Anyway, there's your golf content for the day. Lineups soon. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ~Bill
