If that would have happened, BH would have been pulled in the 1st, or again in the 4th. Is it your opinion that Hendrickson was getting knocked around and on the verge of being touched up for several runs? The score was 1-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth. Jason Lane homered on a good pitch... it was just great hitting. Then Craig Biggio got sawed off and blooped a ball over second for a single, and Adam Everett rolled a ball on a hit and run that came to rest in short right. Neither of those hits represented solid contact, but Yost came running out of the dugout to remove Hendrickson. To me, that represents a complete lack of confidence in the young man's abilities. He pitched out of an enormous, Helms-induced jam the inning previous, which would hopefully mean something in the "is this dude a battler?" category. Hendrickson was not getting bombed. Not at all. Doug Davis was getting bombed today, but he got to stay in. And the same has been true of Obermueller much of the season. Little Ben deserves a chance to pitch. He deserves a longer leash. If he fails, so be it. He did not have a high pitch count, and he had been throwing very well. ~Bill
