  1. I have a free year subscription to it for the same reason. It's a newer service so there's not a ton of original content yet. When scrolling the list of their included content I did see a fair amount of children's shows, I don't have kids so I didn't study them closely but there was one Charlie Brown special on there (The Great Pumpkin). There was also a Fraggle Rock show. Again, I didn't look that close. I've only watched one Apple TV+ original on it so far, Greyhound starring Tom Hanks, it's a WW2 movie where Hanks is a US captain on a destroyer escorting merchant supply ships across the Atlantic to protect them from German U-boats that are trying to sink them. It was a good solid movie I'd say 3.5 stars out of 5. Good action, perhaps a little light on character development outside of Hanks', it's pretty clear his role is where 99% of the focus went (which is understandable, he's Tom friggin Hanks after all) and the side characters remain fairly unexplored and two dimensional. Otherwise it's similar to Amazon Prime. Some content is included for free with the subscription but you can also rent or buy movies. I wouldn't pay for it because it's nowhere near as robust as Netflix or Amazon Prime at this point but since it's free there's no harm. It's easy enough to cancel so that you don't get charged when the year expires. If you don't even want to go that far and just skip the free trial you probably aren't missing much. Yea AppleTV+ doesn't have much. But I stumbled across The Morning Show, that was actually pretty good. Just started Tehran, and that's been good too so far.
  2. I have that saved for my watch list. Also, there's a new documentary about pro blackjack players that travel the country. Sorry, can't recall the name.
  3. Sprint merged with TMobile now, for whatever that's worth. I changed 3 phones in my family over to Sprint a couple years back, no problem with coverage. One family member is in NE Wisc, goes north from there quite often. Coverage was my big concern, so I kept asking everyone. Can get spotty between Wausau and Eau Claire, but I have that same issue with Verizon. Cheez, what you're saying about the lease is accurate. Either you need to get new phone after 2 years or pay it off. Otherwise, you'll continue to make the lease payments. But guess what? those lease payments do NOT decrease the buyout amount on the phone. So, let's say you lease Iphone 11 at $30/mo for two years. You can buy out the phone for idk, say $250, or enter new lease for Iphone 12 or whatever is out at the time. That's not bad. What IS bad? If you do nothing, you pay $30 every month and then you'll have to buy out your current phone for $250, the balance doesn't go down. So, essentially, if you do nothing for a year you will pay $360 for nothing and still have to pay $250 fr that phone before you can lease a new one. They are absolutely counting on you forgetting all about it.
  4. Spectrum is an option. I haven't looked into it yet, but after my YTTV increase I will be. Looks like there's actually 2 choices. "regular" cable at $40 for the 1st year. Which is fine, this seems like something that will need to be shopped at least once a year. BUT they also have their own streaming service now where I believe you can choose "x" number of channels- whatever channels you want. That sounds interesting, just haven't dug into the details yet.
  5. Patriot. (Not 'The" Patriot, the Mel Gibson movie. ) Patriot could be my favorite TV series of all time, it's two seasons. Best way I can describe it it's a dark comedy. Not really the same as Fargo, but if you loved Fargo you'll probably love Patriot. It's unlike anything you've seen, in a good way. Thanks for the suggestion! I'm a big Fargo fan, so I figured I'd check out the first episode last night, ended up watching the first three. Definitely worth a watch if you like good, dark humor, quirky shows. Cool.

  7. Financially, I have definitely benefited from the crisis. I pulled a bunch out of the market when the S&P hit around 3,150, and another chunk around 3,300. Reinvested at the bottom. Now that S&P is back up over 3,100...yea it's been a good ride this year.
  8. With all the chaos going on, it was really entertaining and uplifting to watch the Dragon launch on Saturday, and then watching them dock at the ISS yesterday. The video diriectly from NASA's feed was amazing.
  9. Zero was really good. Almost lost me 1st episode, glad I stayed with it.
  10. Bosch is solid, always look forward to it. Also, final season of Homeland just completed. Showtime is offering a free 30 day trial, so I'm going to binge that next. Not as good as the first few seasons, but I still enjoy it.
  11. The Wire is also "free" on Prime Video, for those of you who have it. I've never had HBO, so finally watched it on Prime last year. If you haven't seen it, put it to the top of the list. Argument can be made that it's the best drama series ever.
  12. Better Call Saul is GREAT tv, and I am inclined to agree with you, or at least say they are equal in quality... I have yet to start Ozark, but it is on my list. I must be the only person left in the USA who hasn't seen any Tiger King yet. Honestly, I have no intention of doing so. The overexposure in memes and media hype is enough for me to veto the idea of watching. Yea, I'll probably get around to Tiger King sometime but I have like 15 things on my watch list before that.
  13. Just got done with Better Call Saul. Hot take, I think it's better than Breaking Bad. Now started Ozark, not a top 5 or 10 show for me but really good.
  14. You are exactly right. And that's not even hidden, it's by design. That worked when baby boomers were all in their peak earning years supporting the previous generation. Now the math doesn't work, and it's exploding the debt. Al Gore was right, there should have been a lock box. It truly is a Ponzi scheme, but it likely will never be changed. Old people vote. Regarding pension vs 401k, one very important point is being missed. Taxes. You can have a Roth 401k and pay no taxes on it later in life when you need it. Pension income is taxed, of course. Beyond that though, having direct control is the most important thing- and that's why I far prefer 401k to SS or pension where someone else has the account.
  15. I hadn't thought of that. That's money that could be tossed back into the economy quite easily I would imagine. What would be even better? Let people control at least half of the 12.4% paid in under SS. Then there would be no need for pensions or 401k.
  16. Spectrum has a streaming service, does anyone know anything about it? I went from like 6 or 7 options down to Hulu live or Spectrum.
  17. Regarding sharung, thats another great thing about yttv. You could share with anyone else and split the cost. $25 for most of the channels most people want. Also unlimited dvr and multiple streams.
  18. Same here! Last year I got two game tickets, that ship has sailed. Bucks remind me of another great MKE style thin crust pizza- Calderone Club. Finally, put me down as a strong NO for Papa Murphys. Can't stand it, honestly would rather have Kwik Trip or even a frozen Jacks.
  19. Also, I've learned not to put any stock in bar pizza. "This bar or that bar has the best pizza!" So I try it, and it is good, but no different than good pizza at any bar. Sometimes really not that good at all. I really think it's because someone has a couple beers, is really hungry, so that pizza is the best thing in the world.
  20. Pizza Ranch for the win! Seriously though, Balistreri's in Tosa, Albanese's in Waukesha, Zaffiros (restaurant not a slice at MP), and Pizza King in Appleton probably the best of my favorite type- MKE style pizza. Sammy's in Appleton was also great, but moved then closed down. North Lake Inn is a bit out of the way from anywhere, but it's very good. They supposedly have Mama Mias recipes or something. I fondly remember Skis in Whitewater, had a unique taste and texture or something. Also love a nice super slice from Rocky's.
  21. Sure. Mental midgets the both of them. Barnes actually lost 3 ticks sometime in 2017. Never liked either of them, outside of Barnes in early 17 for just a bit. I’m not going nuts over Black. Odds off gaining enough command to close > 25%. But to still be an effective pen arm > 60%. No, you're not going nuts over Black. Calling a 30 yr old relief pitcher's ceiling "unhittable" seems reasonable.
  22. Through 3 seasons of The Wire, outstanding. Never had HBO, so sometimes takes a while to circle back to watch their shows, no idea why it took me THIS long though. Probably a top 5 all time series for me.
  23. **Stranger Things Spoiler Alert** In some ways I like season 3 more, but in other ways I thought it was the worst of the 3 seasons. I just can't get past the whole Russian base under the mall thing, just came off as a James Bond spoof or something. Also, as someone who "came of age" in the 80s, they tried WAY too hard to hit us over the head with 80s clothes, products, music, etc. I'm just dissapointed because they could have gone a lot of interesting ways in season 3, and the Russian thing just didn't work. Also, the whole Mind Flayer and Upside Down were always mysterious and scary. Turning it into basically just another monster chasing them around was a mistake. 1/3 Wonder Years, 1/3 Bond, 1/3 Alien = Meh. Incredible ending though, literally had tears in my eyes. I don't recall the ending...but I was never a big fan of Stranger Things. I watched it because I pretty much always have my computer on streaming something, even if most of my attention is focused elsewhere. Only when I can't take my eyes of my computer do I upgrade it to "must watch on real TV" status. But I get why people loved the 1st two seasons. I'm usually very easy to please. I don't have high standards for TV. It just has to entertain me. Stranger Things barely did that and I found the Russian base just too ridiculous. Like they can pay off some small-town Mayer and build this enormous base with Russian Soldiers during the midst of the cold war. Anyway, in my boredom I watched two shows I never would have checked out. "Fleabag," and Marvelous Mr. Masiel." I thought both were hilarious. Sorry if I'm late and others posted these, but I just watched them recently and thought both were hilarious. I also was forced to watch Veronica Mars and was told, "seriously, you'll love it, she is so funny." So, didn't know who she was, but that was a pretty clever show and entertaining in a...-if you're going to be held hostage by a GF/Wife, it's not the worst thing you could watch-type show. Sounds like you have Amazon Prime. Try the tv show Patriot, only two seasons. Nobody has taken me up on that yet, it may be my favorite tv series of all time. It's not a background noise type of show, it needs undivided attention. (not the movie THE Patriot with Mel Gibson.)
  24. Agreed on Dubon. He has shown nothing special and is already 25. Maybe he makes it as a minimum salary utility guy. Why do you believe Arcia can be a .750-.770 hitter? He's only reached that level in 4 months out of 18 in his career, and 2 out of the most recent 10. Faith. Sorry, don't have much more for you that that. We have seen him have stretches where he's really dialed in, and not just for a week. Granted, those stretches are few and far between but it shows me his ceiling. I will play the "young" card. Yes, you could say he has enough MLB ABs to show "he is what he is" by now. I'm not naive, I realize tat may be the case. I just think he's young and athletic enough that there's time for something to work for him. Stance, swing, maturing as a hitter. He's walking more, and K'ing less so it's a process. All that said, I don't know how many more years I want to wait to see if he breaks through.
  25. I keep seeing how Dubon is an upgrade to Arcia. That's just not reality. People read WAY too much into AAA numbers, which are highly inflated this year on top of it. Dubon is OPSing .809, nice. Except Nate Orf is .802. Saladino was .943, we see how that's turning out. Spangenberg is at .900. Oh, and remember Travis Shaw recently raking down there. Point is, .800 in San Antonio this year is nothing special at all. Dubon does not walk. Very limited power. As dissapointing as Arcia has been, Dubon can't touch his OPS with batting avg alone. And he's not going to hit .300 either. Dubon is Sardinas, Rivera, and the long list of middle IF we have seen before. He will struggle to stay on a roster as a utility guy. I get Arcia isn't much better, but he is better. And I still believe he can become a .750- .770ish hitter.
