  1. You don't use him in every situation he is available because then at some point in time he isn't going to be available. Like I said. I don't think its a terrible situation to use him in. I just think you let Shaun start the inning and if anyone gets on base you bring him in. No need to burn him with Marcum cruising when who knows when we are going to need him next.
  2. See that is the type of rigid thinking that is dangerous. Krod and Ax should be used in the most high leverage situations period. What if your boy Greinke is at 75 pitches after 7 in a 3-1 game. WILL we still see a combo of Krod and Ax? Look i dont think its a horrible decision to go to Krod and Ax. I just dont think its the right one and I don't like the way it has been used by Ron.
  3. Did you watch Marcum get pounded around in the 7th? Just because they were outs doesn't mean the Giants weren't getting really good contact on him. They were outs, 3 outs for 3 batters. Besides the one to Morgan, none were hit that hard and he has looked great the entire game. You still didn't answer my question...
  4. Because that would be silly?? Has Greinke even made it in to the 8th inning yet? Well he is FOR SURE better than Marcum, Narv or Wolf in the 8th. What you just saw there was pretty much par for the course....You're right. You can say that FOR SURE. When you speak in absolutes it discredits what you are saying. Let me just ask how you can say that FOR SURE? Marcum was cruising and could have easily done the same thing. You could save Krod for a different situation where he comes in for a pitcher that is struggling or in a higher leverage situation.
  5. Very nice inning for Krod. That was filthy. Glad it worked out, but I just hate the rigidity of roles Ron seems focused on.
  6. Because that would be silly?? Has Greinke even made it in to the 8th inning yet?
  7. Only 90 pitches and the bottom of the order coming up. Why would they do that?Krod is the 8th inning guy. Gotta keep those roles defined.
  8. He wasn't that bad. The "suck it" was actually the "up yours" in Kotsay/the fans direction with the number of outs there were. Definitely borderline, but it wasn't that bad at all.
  9. Did Plush just give the "suck it" to the bleachers?
  10. Ouch. He was out. I'll take baserunners in front of Weeks and Fielder though.
  11. Memory must be going in my old age here...
  12. I was talking about '08. The first time the Brewers were good in forever and comparing coverage then to the coverage the Pirates are getting now.
  13. I remember the Brewers getting quite a bit of love when they were exceeding expectations, and then when they traded for CC, they blew up. So I do disagree with you on this one. Yea, once CC came over but prior to that they were in 1st the entire season basically. I just don't remember anything pre-CC. Again, I could be wrong and just not remembering here.
  14. You know I get why the media is sweating them. It's a great story for a franchise that has suffered for a long time. But I don't remember this sort of coverage when the Brewers were doing the same thing in '08. Am I wrong? It just seems like every time I turn on ESPN or MLB someone is leading with or talking about the Pirates. I guess I just remember thinking in '08 no one is talking about the Brewers. end rant...
  15. People were saying don't worry DM will correct this before the AS break, then it was after the AS break, now its August. What is it that DM knows that no one else seems to know? This move should have been made a month ago. If they give up anything of value in a trade for a 3rd baseman when Green is destroying AAA I will be very upset. You have an option in house and that move should be made. Maybe the talent is better in AA or maybe it is better in AAA. Either way McGehee has been performing at historically awful levels all season. Just about anyone would be better at this point and is there anyone out there that thinks Green can't post a .600+ OPS right now?
  16. Green with a homer, 2 walks and a single tonight. This is absurd.
  17. For those watching, how did Braun's leg look on that double?
  18. I really hope DM does not trade for the RH part of the CF platoon. Morgan plays 3/4 of the time as it is. I doubt anyone that Melvin can pick up would be better than Carroll and if they are its probably not worth what it would take to get them given our holes at SS and 3rd.
  19. Exactly how is it a no brainer?
  20. Really hope this doesn't backfire. I have no idea why you take out Chris with the way he was pitching and less than 90 pitches.
  21. No doubt RR has some input - but at the end of the day, he doesn't make the decision. Melvin does. Cherry picking a quote and trying to pin Green being stuck at AAA on RR is a big stretch. You are right that would be a big stretch. I never said that and I am not sure where you are getting that from. I said input and influence. Not sure how I was "pinning" anything on Ron. I said yes and no, in that yes the call is DM's but Ron has influence over it.
  22. Yea baby! So this is the "plan" for Braun RRR was talking about.
