  1. I pointed out, for those of you citing cappy's poor second half numbers, that he has pitched 40 fewer innings in this seasons first half, than in the previous 2. So, he could be less likely to wear down...
  2. Has anyone pointed out that, though he is "walking WAY too many" his walk rate is very similar to his 2005, 3.99 ERA season? In fact, his stats are almost mirror images.
  3. I made a post HERE about Cappy, and it sums up my feelings on the situation. I think everyone in this thread should check it out.
  4. Read my post here on Capuano LINK
  5. People, get ahold of yourself. Cappy is struggling, but you just don't take veteran pitchers out of the rotation and make them loogys when they hit a rough patch. This is getting out of hand. Every brewers loss brings more ridiculous suggestions than the last. Every loss doesn't need to move the starter to the bullpen. Every 0-4 isn't the start of a slump. Every blown save is not a sign of the apocolypse. The manager doesnt need to be fired after every loss, and every loss doesn't start a 10 game skid.
  6. He's still a good pitcher, but if there got to be a bidding war between teams, I wouldn't want to Crew to give up what it would take to get him. His secondary stats have falling for a few years and you're paying for what he has done, when going forward he looks to regress.
  7. I think LOB is more dependant on the guys hitting behind you than on the baserunner himself.
  8. The top 5 in runs scored are Detroit, Cleveland, NYY, Philadelphia and Texas and they rank 3, 5, 2, 6 and 23(!). So I think there is some correlation. cough, cough
  9. Im not worried about the home run derby... Ryan howard did ok last year after the derby...
  10. What about Damaso Marte from Pittsburgh? Could fill Shouse's role nicely, and here's his 3 year splits: vs Right: .257 / .358 / .429 / .787 vs Left: .209 / .309 / .300 / .609 Not sure what it would take to get him, but he is signed through 2008 so it wouldnt be a rental.
  11. Career Totals: 3052 AB / .246/.377/.513/.891 Career @ MP: 170 AB / .218/.379/.418/.796
  12. If the reds are interested in trading dunn, obviously I'd be ecstatic if the crew got him. I'm not going to come up with a proposal, but I think if they could get him for prospects who (I hope) aren't long term pieces it would be awesome. I'm not sure what it would take, he's an elite slugger for sure, but it comes with his poor defense and inability to hit for average (which I am aware is not a problem, but its perceived as one it seems), and the fact he's a half season rental.
  13. Does it exist? I remember seeing a thread about it a while back, but my phone didnt work so I didnt look into it.
  14. Please explain, since I posted what I felt was a reasonable opinion. You think suggesting we add Carlos Lee is a reasonable opinion?
  15. I agree with that, especially if the added corner OFer would be a "big bopper" like Carlos Lee. I hate posts like this.
  16. Ive seen people suggest we trade clark for a bag of balls. I'd personally rather have clint barmes.
