That was 3 outs on 3 pitches to a pitcher that had thrown 65 after 2+. Way to let a guy back in the game.

You gotta love it when the opposing starting pitcher throws 34 pitches in the first inning. With Rickie now over .200 it feels like we might get back in the race.

People might not like Izturis' bat but you have to like his defense. Those are some great hands, so quick.

That inning shows why many teams won't take a chance on Greinke. As long as things are going exactly the way he wants everything is great. Anything that bumps him out of his comfort zone causes outings like this. I think they will end up having to keep him for the season and taking the draft choice.

Something happened the other night that I can never remember happening before. It was 95 at 6:30 and by 8:00 it was 75. No rain or clouds coming in or anything like what normally happens when there is a drastic temp drop. The temp dropped another 5 degrees around sundown and then around 11:00 the thunderstorms hit. Usually the storms come and then the temps drop and that means the front has come through, this time the front came through well before the rains hit. Anyone have an explanantion for me?

Yo does a great job of getting the first two strikes but then nibbles way too much. Sure would like to see him go after hitters when he has a 3 run lead.

No matter what happens today, Fiers has earned a spot in the rotation. So has Estrada. Greinke, Gallardo and Marcum are givens. Guess that leaves out Hangdog Wolf.

I can honestly say that I was surprised when Maldonado struck. He has been so clutch lately.
