The more I watch Mike Fiers the more I am reminded of a young Cal Eldred.

Doug just said that Segura is going to AA.

What Doug gave up for Greinke and what he got for him is pretty close to a wash. If you suscribe to the theory that the best player wins the trade then Doug won because Segura has the highest ceiling by quite a bit. The Royals got better depth in their trade but if either Hellwig or Pena develops into a top arm then Doug is the definite winner.

The pitcher for Ogden tonight is Jake Hermsen. He is my sons brother-in-law and a product of New London WI and Northern Illinois. Seems weird to be rooting against Helena tonight.

This team's situational hitting is worse than pathetic. Leadoff doubles that never get moved up a base. Trying to yank outside pitches when going to right is what is called for. Say goodbye Mr. Narron, you are toast.

Thornburg should have been out of the inning. Two of those pitches should have been called strikes.
