WHAT? Gomez leading off. Are you nuts RRR? That's it, I'm done with the Brewers forever, I just can't put up with the stupidity. Huh? Oh, wait. Oops. I guess Aoki is leading off and Gomez is batting 2nd. Never mind.
I have a huge problem with the way the catchers are used. An awful pitcher should not dictate when our 2nd best hitter plays. Kotteras has to play way too often against left handed pitchers. Luc can't play them all but he needs to be used in a much more intelligent manner, not to the whims of a whiner.
Had a HS game to coach last night so I just got to see the walk off for the first time. Aoki needs some practice at the post game celebration. Love his effort, he just needs more reps.
Even if nothing comes of this, I have to admit that Melvin has played this situation perfectly. Prince is still probably gone but, with Melvin and Mark A., to quote the immortal Joaquin Andujar, you can sum it all up with one word. Youneverknow.
I'm scouring the jsonline site to try to find other post game tidbits such as the Uecker/Plush interview. Can anyone post the link on the site with radio highlights, interviews, etc.? I had to endure my high school kids getting pounded 35-0 in their homecoming game and missed this.
Since leadoff is a "speed spot" the obvious place for Rickie is in the 5 hole. He can take advantage of his power while running the bases like Braun did when he was hurting.
I agree that winning tonight does not guarantee anything and there is a long way to go. I want this win tonight because I want to see how Abner LaRussa and his players would react. They seem to be extremely tight right now and the possibility of a St. Louis implosion has me highly intrigued. If the Brewers win tonight I just might drive to STL to watch the games with Colorado and to visit with the locals.
