  1. I think it would be cool if we could have some kind of "official" weekly poll on the main page....kinda like what the milwaukeebrewers home page has. polls are fun, adn having an official one might cut back on the insanity a million unofficial polls can inspire really, everytime i read the poll on the official site, i just want to repost it on brewerfan to see how differently we would vote than those who just go to the official site...hehe
  2. let me clarify... i don't mean the other news sites are nopt beneficial...but that i would really like to come to brewerfan FIRST to see the headline of the day...rather than having to go to rotoworld/espn/jsonline, etc..just to see the news... i know this info is readily available on the message board...everyone is ludicrously fast about posting new info still, i would like to be able to come to the frontpage and find out whats going on right away...
  3. i thought you were in signapore still??? anyway, hoffy most everyone likes you...and no one, sand the 40 or so of us that have been doing this for 4 years, remembers the espn scuffle
  4. i know, double post...but i want to make sure this gets read: Hey, i still want some kind of headline on the sight... i know when picks get signed they get a little baseball card...but what about other newsworthy events??? i know the dailybrew is supposed to cover these, but it isnt really daily...so it doesnt fit the job... i think we need some kind of headline that covers major events, like Jenkins' injuries and Paul Molitor's induction... of course, having an article with these would be excellent, or maybe even a link to coverage elsewhere, at the least, just the headline and a brief summary of what happened I hate having to go to other sights to get info, and i really wish that the front page didn't ignore important brewers events... if this is alot of work, ignore me...but i still think it would be great

  6. its been mentioned on air like 15 times..and we occasionally take over talk radio...but still under 1000...it might go up some...but i wouldnt expect 170 that quick! edit: Over 800 bob!
  7. I plan on doing a preview of the rotation...but its kinda pointless right now...as the free agent (for the brewers that would be minor league) signing period isnt really over...and i guess there is atill a chance or two that the crew will sign someone else... at least we don't have que and campos anymore....
  8. rotoworld reports that the brewers are close to signing fomer white sock and expo, Jeff Liefer to a minor league contract Im sure this will infuriate all the people that were pissed when jon nunnally was signed
  9. its almost like they are trading the value of that first round pick in order to sign the free agents because they dont have to spend a coupla mil in the first round over the last 2 years, then they can use it to buy other players perhaps that small monetary difference is just enough for them to sign these rummies i wouldnt do it...but maybe thats wht they are up to
  10. id still like to come to this thing...but thats the week of finals... so if thats the final week, then im out
  11. can we get a link to the mlb gamecast?
  12. jerks...the time was finally right!
  13. for everyone who said Richie wasnt upper echelon: .926 Ops for everyone who once said richie had not plate discipline, or that it was impossible for him to walk alot: 97 walks for everyone who thought he was slowing down because of bad knees: 45 hr's Sexson is tied for the league lead in Hr's, he's 4th in RBI, and he's in the top ten in Walks, Slg, and OPS Richie has become a Bonafide Major League Superstar and frankly, I will be upset if they trade him...if prince fielder cannot be contained, so be it..but until I see Prince ready to put up numbers similar, then I say keep richie!
  14. There is a lot of pop in that bat - the OBP will be a limiting factor, but an OPS in the .780-.810 range is not out of the question. Plus, Hall seems to have the ability to steal 15-20 bases a year. i think it is out of the question... and that your letting your emotions get carried away
  15. obermueller vs schilling i bet the brewers are the underdogs by at least a td in this one sorry, im bitter, the dawgs lost yesterday
  16. highlight everything, copy it, paste in notepad and print...it wont be pretty, but it will work
  17. Why do I see Wayne Franklin's name in all of the projected starting rotations posted here for 2004? great point mass...what has he done to earn a guaranteed starting spot next year? i mean, he is basically the left handed jimmy haynes.... ive appreciated what he he has accomplished this year..and he is a bit of good story...but there has got to be a good young pitcher somewhere that is being blocked... i think wayne would make a better long man....or middle reliever or anything...than guaranteed a starting spot next year oh yeah...check out how eerily similar jamey wright is to wayne...his 2002 season was quite like wayne's 2003 has been
  18. I was pleased to meet three emissaries from brewerfan.net after the game, who traveled from LaCrosse and Beloit, Wisconsin, and Georgia to see the game tonight. I'm sorry they never got to see the Stars at their best, but they promised they'd come back next season........ To comster Chris Hawkinson and his traveling party, I'd personally like to welcome them back. We'll have a pizza after the game and talk Snapper baseball. It was good to talk and I wish we had more time. Had a great time at the game last night david, even if the final outcome was a bit of a dissapointment. I heartily suggest everyone make it to huntsville in 2004. its a very professional organization. A few notes: Corey Hart looks exactly like Sexson did at his age..i was very impressed with the way he swings the bat Kade Johnson is royally over matched...I would be surprised if he ever makes it beyond AA Housman topped out at 88, but worked mostly in the 84-86 range...Tom Glavine and Jaime Moyer can do it...but who else can? Krynzel's injury is nothing Daryl Clark looked pretty uncomfortable in Right fielf and finally, Nooche Varner has an undeniable Cannon perhaps, he sould be called mr cannon! anyway, i had a great time chris and Mike..and david... and thanx again to robert portnoy for the passes! -brad
  19. I can't remember who, but someone said your 4th OF should be a guy who you wouldn't mind if he got 350 AB's, and that's right on. hehe...its only 4 posts above yours!
  20. If he and Brady Clark are the reserves next year, I won't complain too much. I will!~ ive got no problem with one of the reserve outfeilders being a light hitting good d with speed guy..but i think its importnat to have a 4th outfeilder who can get 350 ab's without being a mile below average theres plenty of guys like stairs or vander wal that would be a better option than having conti AND clark on the team at the same time Besides, if the team really wants a strong defending no hit outfeilder, why dont they grab one in the rule 5...that way at least there is a chance at the player developing
  21. Latest Hot Prospect Sheet: Two of the top 10 in the nation are Brewers... dont forget corey on the others to watch list! Prince Fielder: 2003 Minor League Player of the Year!
  22. dj was a third baseman, but that came to an end last year...apparently he just can't hack it.. and as for hustle...i have no clue though hustle is not always visible
  23. rotoworld said he asked for his release after losing his starting spot...that seemed odd to me since i was never sure how much starting he did...nonethelesss...i think he asked for it
  24. i retract my comment that dj needed to kill someone...now he just needs some justice
