  1. hehehe.. gotta work faster..
  2. I liked Sardinas...but I understand why Stearns might like Villar more. Hopefully the return is something cool.
  3. Moya? Jefry Marte? Dixon Machado? Not that much that's super exciting here. Marte could probably be the third baseman. Moya is somewhat highly regarded for the Tigers, but i don't think he'd be the one.
  4. I think opening that 40 man spot is a bigger deal than we realize---i would guess those of you who surmised that Stearns will take a rule 5 guy are correct, but the brewers haven't really had roster flexibility before now to do it. Now they can add everyone that really needs to get added and one rule 5 guy. i wonder if they will try to dump or DFA Garza this week too?
  5. so, without Melvin around, does that lessen the likelihood that Krod resigns here after the season ends like he normally does?
  6. While I still really like Roache's potential, I don't think there's any chance he'd get taken in the rule 5 draft. He's the kind of guy that would bat .100 as a pinch hitter, and i don't think anyone is going to take him to be a starter. He doesn't fit the mold of recent rule 5 picks. I wouldn't be surprised if the Brewers added him, but I really don't expect them to for another year.
  7. Looks like Hernan Perez is back. Everyone can breathe now.
  8. Maddux. I feel like he's one of the better pitching coaches in baseball, if you believe those guys really make a difference
  9. I think that's surprising. He's generally regarded as having done a very good job---or so I' thought.
  10. Asche is not totally unlike casey mcGehee when the Brewers got him the first time. He'd be a change of scenery former prospect who has run out of chances in his current organization.
  11. 1. Orlando Arcia 2. Brett Phillips 3. Trent Clark 4. Jorge Lopez 5. Tyrone Taylor 6. Gilbert Lara 7. Josh Hader 8. Zach Davies 9. Monte Harrison 10. Devin Williams 11. Kodi Medeiros 12. Michael Reed 13. Demi Orimoloye 14. Clint Coulter 15. Cody Ponce 16. Marcos Diplan 17. Jake Gatewood 18. Wei-Chung Wang 19. Adrian Houser 20. Victor Roache 21. Jorge Ortega 22. Nathan Kirby 23. Tyler Wagner 24. Yadiel Rivera 25. Damien Magnifico
  12. the best thing is that he mentions the 2015 class didn't figure into the rankings. Clark and Demi have been very highly regarded by BA, so they will certainly factor into all rankings going forward. BA has clark as the best prospect in the AZL, Lara at 3rd, and Demi at 5th.
  13. im pretty sure we are just seeing all the guys who were going to have to be added to the 40 man anyway, getting added now so that they can get a cuppa joe.
  14. I don't mind the losing when the team is trying to rebuild---i've been enjoying watching some of the young guys---watching the young pitchers has been fun. This is a lot different form when they were losing and the pitchers were retreads from other teams. It's very easy to watch this group and get the feeling that they could be good in a couple years with an infusion of young talent, and thankfully, I've seen the front office doing what it can to try and add those players. It's also been especially fun to watch Santana crank oppo bombs. Dude is inching closer to legit every day. A cubs fan friend of man apologized to me for doubting him last night. That was nice.
  15. I think Arcia may be entering Braun-eque territories of prospectdom this off season. He's clearly the best ss prospect still in the minors, and when you look at what he's been like compared to Lindor, Reed, and even Seager, you can start to make a real case that maybe he should be ranked top 5 in all of baseball. Yes, graduations will help him (all the above guys aren't prospects anymore), but even so, it's hard to argue that Arcia isn't far and away one of the best MILB players. Oh, and he's still a pretty scrawny 21 year old, so he's got a lot of projectability left...
  16. root for montgomery! If the Biscuits win, I might get to go to a game...that would be awesome
  17. isn't daniel fields logan schafer but younger? maybe this is the end for logan
  18. based on how they placed gatewood and harrison last year, I expect Trent and Demi in Wisconsin until the Helena season begins...unless there is no reason to bump them down. Trent didn't play like someone who needs to be in Rk. at all next year.
  19. I agree with you...The team is winning because Hernan Perez, Elian Herrera, Zach Davies, and Domingo Santana ARE Playing. What are we supposed to do? Bench those guys? for who? Nevin Ashley and Sardinas? What if they keep winning when those guys are playing in a few days. I'd love to have a top five pick, but man, it's awesome to see people like Santana kill the ball and Jungmann pitch like an ace. Isn't that what we root for?
  20. I can completely see Braun running like Crazy for the next three weeks to try and have a 30/30 season.
  21. Matt Dominguez was removed at some point, because he's been claimed by the Blue Jays
  22. much deserved---he would have probably lost out to the likes of Snell and Berrios if they hadn't been promoted, but nonetheless, he has clearly established himself in a big way this year. Brewers Pitcher of the year Honors are likely to follow...
  23. I don't think this team can rattle off many wins---there are some terrible players on the field every night. A couple years ago, when they had the great September, they had some legitimate talent. Not so this year my friends, not so. Also, Lind and Braun will definitely rest some down the stretch, and so will Luc, so I have a really hard time seeing this team suddenly winning a bunch of games.
  24. Cooper only has 800 MiLB ab's...I was going to post something here about his lack of power, but honestly, I don't think we've really seen what this guy has. He has hit a lot of doubles, but outside of this year, where half of his total career ab's have come from in a lousy power environment, he's been hurt and getting sporadic playing time. He's barely played anywhere other than BC. I'm very curious to see what he does with a full season in Biloxi next year.
