  1. The stats probably won't bear this out but it seems like K-Rod gives up a home run every single outing that I have seen him pitch in the last few months.
  2. Alright, time to hope that our bullpen can hold'em for two innings.
  3. I didn't see any other thread dedicated to today's game. Feel free to lock if there is but wanted to start something.
  4. Thought we might have a bit more chatter on here with it being a big game in August against a division rival. Let's go Crew!
  5. There are so many unknowns that I think it is way too early to call the Braun extension a bad contract yet. I am hoping that Braun's thumb is the reason his power numbers are down this year and the optimist in me still thinks that that's the case. Having played baseball for a long time myself I can imagine that an injury to a thumb ligament would be particularly hard to produce with. I think the other thing to consider is how the value of contracts have continually risen each season. Locking up a guy who is even decent for the long-term and paying him $16 million or whatever his final year calls for him to get, could be a steal by then.
  6. That special and magical Maddux touch with the Kill Bill theme music playing in the background.
  7. Stupid question, by hypothetically if the season were to end today, who do we match up with in the playoffs?
  8. I love it when a thread with this title pops up in August or September.
  9. I am really pumped for this game tonight especially after I had such good intentions last night and fell asleep in the fifth. I must be getting old.
  10. Count me as being in favor of adding as many guys to the roster as possible. I know that it's not RR or DM's preferred way of doing things, and that DM has gone so far as to speak publicly about the need for MLB to change roster expansion rules, but I think that they have got to have as many options as possible in both late-inning or extra inning games and in blow outs where we can spell starters for a few innings. Tony La Russa really utilized this during Septembers past with the StL to their benefit. Any time that you can add depth for a playoff push it's a no-brainer imho.
  11. Fiers K's today set the mark for Brewers strikeouts on the road. Pretty unexpectedly cool.
  12. Both Good Will Hunting and Dead Poet's Society are two of my favorite movies of all time. I know it's a cartoon and a kid's movie but I think the job he did as the genie in Aladdin was pretty epic as well. He was a real versatile guy. RIP.
  13. That picture makes me smile on so many levels.
  14. There was really a lot of jumping to conclusions on this board today. I get it, in-game-threads are by nature going to be that way, but geez. RR knows that Garza is throwing a one hitter and is not just going to remove him at 70 pitches or whatever for no reason. I hope Garza's injury isn't too serious. Can you imagine if RR would have run him back out there and then he suffers an even worse injury because he didn't remove him when he did?
  15. Does anyone else watching on FoxSports Wisconsin find the guy crawling out of the freezer with his grill in hand while whispering at customers in the Kwik Trip commercials to be extremely creepy? This random dude inviting himself to my house while recommending meat to eat just seems weird.
  16. Am anxiously awaiting this report from Telly regarding Garza. Even Schroeder calling the move to take him out puzzling.
  17. I assume that number one has got to be Ted Williams without question.
