  1. I was there as well. Left field bleachers for me so you definitely had the better seats but what a memory of a game that was.
  2. Grand Chute? Is that code for Appleton?
  3. I was at the game in Arlington tonight. What an experience that was. I cannot wait until we see another no-hitter in Milwaukee. Hard to imagine a more dramatic game in April.
  4. New to me and many....Rarely paid any transaction fee. Most of my purchases were made at the box office. There are a host of other questions with no paper tickets. A few include the popular BP and Oldtime Ballplayers promotion... do those go away too? Both offered paper coupons for tickets. How about Uecker ($1) tickets and the Arctic Tailgate? Giving group tickets (when that becomes a thing again) out becomes much more of a headache for me. Naive thinking if you think these things, among others, are not an issue with thousands of Brewers fans. The Brewers are messing with fans habits of buying tickets that go back 20 years at Miller Park. Just way too many changes in ticket policy to expect the good ol fan to adjust. People will simply stay home more, me included. And that extra “$2 non game transaction fee” for my preferred parking pass just gets more and more irritating. Habits need to change. That simple. If you don’t like it, don’t go to the games. The Brewers were behind the times and are using the Covid-19 situation to catch up. I’m sure you’ll figure it out. If you want to. Sure but many won’t and that will hurt the team’s connection to a significant demographic of fans. I am in my 30’s, and always printed a ticket out. Yes, I can and will adapt to electronic tickets but my parents? Definitely not. They have been going to games since the team moved to Milwaukee but they will not be buying a smart phone just to go now. They are most definitely not alone.
  5. Such a joke that guys like Haudricourt are seemingly never held to account for such sloppy work.
  6. This absolutely stinks. I have made a point to make the media guides from each year a part of my baseball “man cave.” I just bought the 1970 and 1971 ones to make it an entire collection. This really bums me out.
  7. What’s your solution?
  8. The same Jake Lamb with the .193 BA the last two seasons? What am I missing here to suggest he would be a better option then Urias?
  9. I mean, cool and all, but how is this “well deserved”?
  10. Hello, do you have managers in this collection as well? Specifically trying to find Jim Lefebvre. Thanks!
  11. And another Hall of Famer in Ted Simmons as well.
  12. Very sad to hear the news that Don Sutton passed away last night. He obviously spent most of his Hall of Fame career as a Dodger but boy it sure seemed like he provided some great momentum when the Crew acquired him in 1982. RIP Don.
  13. I am in the market for these Matthew. Let me know if you reduce your price a bit. Thanks!
  14. I don’t have anything particular to add here but thanks for posting! I am not old enough to have seen Harper play but have read a bit about him and appreciate the post. Seems like he would have been an incredibly fun player to watch in 1970.
  15. Anyone know the status of David Freitas?
  16. I live on the east coast and had the exact same reaction. Ugh. Was so excited for that series
  17. I read this morning that J.P. Feyereisen dropped 30 pounds during the lockdown period. That seems pretty crazy. That cannot be healthy
  18. A little surprised no Corey Ray
  19. I would be shocked if they were “winging it” after all of the time that the league has had to prepare and all of the safety measures that are seemingly in place
  20. Has anyone seen anything in if expanded rosters will be in place for this season and if so how many?
  21. The home stadium shift from the earlier considerations of AZ/FL/TX did interest me. Is it a thing where the combination of heat, time zones, and finding optimal TV times make it difficult? Or are they desperate to gamble that there could be a point where late season could let them have 10%-25% capacity? Maybe it could come as a counter proposal to the owners', but just don't see how the players in particular would strongly prefer to be playing in New York vs. Florida or Milwaukee vs. Arizona under the current circumstances. I wonder how much the states complained about the "play all games in Arizona" plan, as the players pay income tax based on the state in which they play. Big tax states like NY, California, IL & WI would lose a lot of tax money if the games were played elsewhere. This is a really great and under discussed point (State Tax issue)
  22. Kind of random but does anyone else remember a painting (or maybe print) that was done to commemorate the opening of Miller Park? I believe it may have been offered to season ticket holders (for a price) at the time, and had pictures of Richie Sexson, Jeff D’Amico and George W Bush from the first game at the stadium
  23. Well I am pretty sure that the World War 2 generation felt the effects of that 4 year (for the US) war much more then a virus that has been around a couple of months. Without writing an essay I will just add that we aren’t currently experiencing food rationing, gas shortages, rubber drives, victory gardens, and mass deployment of much of a generation overseas, not to mention the high casualty numbers. The pandemic is having a much greater actual affect on American Citizens and their "morale" than a War fought on foreign soil. Additionally, more Americans have lost their lives in 3 months of the pandemic than in over 10 years of the Vietnam War. Not to mention that a World War is an actually boost to the economy rather than a pandemic that has brought the US economy to it's knees.
  24. RIP to 1978 Brewers pitcher Ed Farmer. Ed spent only one of his eleven Major League seasons in Milwaukee but did go 1-0 with the Crew. He had been an announcer with the White Sox starting in 1992 through the 2019 season. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2884681-white-sox-broadcaster-ex-mlb-player-ed-farmer-dies-at-age-70
  25. RIP to former major league outfielder Jim Wynn. Jim spent most of his career in Houston and his number is retired by the Astros, but he ended his career in Milwaukee as a Brewer, playing in 36 games with the Crew.
