Gomez as DH? I don't get that.
-
He's only caught 2 games so far, but he appears to be a professional catcher in handling the pitchers and blocking wild pitches. Not much of an arm. 4 for 8 at the plate so far, much better hitter than Cruz and a better band-aid for the position. I always liked the guy. He has pretty good power and gets on base.

Another big road trip (7.28 - 8.3) facing the Crew

joe block tweeted this this morning Brewers are 22-21 vs teams over .500, one of six teams in all of MLB with a winning record against teams with winning records. Yeah, I was always too lazy to try to look it up... but you would assume MOST teams would not fare well against the winnings teams. -
I have two tickets for 8/10 in Section 212 Row 10 on the aisle for $72 (our cost). Let me know if you want 'em and I'll take them off the classified ads at work.

Napoli sounds like a great idea. I'd be in for Lester too if it was anyone but Nelson going over to Boston.
-
It's the best offense in the NL, but yet it's a frustrating one. I don't know how much they can really improve the offense, though. Jean and 1B are the only positions that really need an upgrade offensively. Jean isn't going anywhere and 1B might get slightly upgraded but I question how much of a different it would make.
-
The problem is that after 2015 our rotation is going to be in shambles without Nelson. 3 minor league players that aren't Nelson would be great, but I don't see a way to pull that off.
-
He will be on his 5th team since the Brewers once he signs with someone new. He must be a terrible catcher, because he's a pretty good hitter/bench bat.
-
I don't see Melvin parting with Gennett to get Price. The upgrade isn't worth it to create a deficiency at 2B.
-
I think Nelson, Thornburg and Coulter would do it, but I'm not sure I would want to do it if I was the Brewers. I just don't know if it's worth it - it's a tough call. I definitely wouldn't trade Khrush or Gennett. If they wanted one of them it would make the decision pretty easy, in my opinion. I too would rather pick up Zobrist for a much lesser price.

Whoa, that is nice.

My band is playing the BBC that same night. I wonder if this is the day that Jonathan Lucroy and I become best friends!?
-
Other than maybe depth, I don't see this move making much of a difference. He's not an impact pitcher anymore.
-
We are seeing some rare brewer patience this game. I like it. Yeah, there was a low "strike" to Weeks that was just ridiculous. Yet I feel Garza was squeezed a bit early on.
-
Peavy is not better than anyone in the Brewers' rotation - so I highly doubt it. They're likely looking at one of their relievers.
-
We all know Lyle was the one that was going to get dumped, if anyone.
-
BA really let loose on that horrible HBP call. I've never heard him say stuff like that. It was great.
-
What crap? Get hosed on a blown replay and then spiking a slider in the dirt that clips a toe? Hosed or not be got down 3-0 on a guy trying to bunt and the pitch the "HBP" was on was also a ball. Then hit another batter on an 0-2 count. So I say again... "Jimmy. Jimmy. Jimmy...... Yah just cannot do this crap at the major league level." A high fastball is exactly what you should be throwing at someone trying to bunt. And he wasn't able to successfully bunt.
-
what an unbelievably horrible call. sorry that you're bad at bunting, Cozart.

It's way too early to dismiss them. I fear them. -
I ran into Ron at the Outpost grocery store in Bayview in 2012, I believe. He had landed himself a pretty good looking wife. He's also a lot taller than I expected, but I suppose I mostly see him down in the dugout so he looks smaller. After that happened I texted a few of my friends that I thought would care about my encounter. All of them except one texted back "TELL HIM TO CUT RANDY WOLF" What were we talking about again?
-
Also, Mesoraco and Mat Latos are both ugly. That's very important to note.
-
Same. I can't believe it. I thought initially he touched the ump but it appears he just pointed at him. He was allupinhisgrill, as the kids say.
