  1. I did check ebay after the suggestion, and it appears as if this card is just about worthless. There were 5-6 at an introductory price of $ .99 and had no bids.
  2. ebay is a fine idea and a good resource. Not all the cards or items listed in this thread will appear on ebay and this thread will also allow others to quickly see any items that may be collected by other site members. This thread is sort of supposed to be a "side bar" to ebay and used exclusively by members of this site. edit: This thread is also a resource to ask specific questions about an item besides value.
  3. I have a Ben Sheets Rookie Card from Bowman. It's a Chrome card and went straight from the package to a plastic sleeve and a top loader. Corners are sharp, no apparent flaws. Card is Number 207 of the whole series. I don't know if this is a set within the series or not. Any information would be helpful. Is there an approximate value for this card?
  4. This thread is an attempt to assist those in search of value ideas of a particular baseball collectible item. Obviously, any answers obtained here are to be considered a general value and not an exact dollar figure. Please realize that this thread is a service to you and answers provided by fellow posters are not in any way an offer of purchase, or a guaranteed market value by Brewerfan.net or its members. 5. I think it's just to sell more stuff. Different people like different looks, some people collect all the hats they can. I like green, so I'll probably grab a green Brewers hat. There are quite a few different themed hats out there for the Brewers already and they all show people how much you care for your team.
  6. I'd like to proudly boast that it is Brewerfan. Unfortunately, there are other news stories to read about, emails to view, and someone else sharing this computer, so I go with my yahoo. Sorry Brian.
  7. I'd like to volunteer as the official home brew taste tester for this thread.

  9. Most of you know that I'm not too good with computers. As a matter of fact, I think a tree is better than I am. I'm trying to load a whole boat load of CD's onto my Itunes because I can't get the 8-tracks to fit into that slot. I put in the Beatles 'Abby Road', and I tunes and my computer did not identify it. It just listed as "artist" or something and lists the songs as tracks. I'm not sure how to correct this. Also- I'm up to around 350 songs or more which is using approximately 1.25 GB of memory. Is this a lot for music? I'm going to about double that if I get everything on there I want.
  10. 1) When doing laundry, do you put the detergent in first or last? Usually last. I just kinda slosh it all over the clothes w/o measuring it and then I get yelled at for doing it that way. 2) On your landline phone, do you let the phone ring twice before answering? Nah. Whenever I get it is when I get it. 3) When you are ready to make a phone call with a landline, do you check to see if the line is busy regardless of if anyone else is in the house using another phone? Nope. Just dial the bad boy. I guess that with cordless phones this question is kinda moot because only one phone can work at a time. 4) When at a gas station, do you count the change that is given back to you? Or do you just put it in your pocket and go without counting it at all? Wherever I use cash, I count it before leaving the counter. I'll return overages and question shortages. 5) When you are driving, do you use your turning signal every opportunity that you lawfully need to use it? Or do you not use it when in a quiet neighborhood when no one else is around? I guess just when pedestrians or other vehicles are around. 6) When calling someone up on their cell phone, do you usually leave a message or do you not because your name or number will show up on the ID anyway? Message. Voice message. I do not text, ever. 7) At a sporting event, do you wait until the game or match has a "dead air" moment to get up to use the restroom or buy food? I wait for a time that is not likely to have too much action. 8) When you are hungry for something that you obviously don't have in your cupboards or fridge, do you usually check anyway in hopes it will "magically appear?" No. Not really. I will however, look 2-3 times for something interesting and then complain there's nothing to eat. Mary will ask what I want, and I reply "I don't know." 9) At your job, do you usually keep your daily agenda in your head or write it down? I'm self employeed at the moment, so I pretty much am the only one to keep track of. This situation allows me to need little written notes if any at all. 10) When you are using an ATM, do you sit there and hope and pray you get the cash you need even if you know you have sufficient funds in your account? No. I used to do that because of poor record keeping. However, I'm pretty good at record keeping now especially financially, so I need not worry at all about my end of things. The machine on the other hand.....

  17. I emailed the Brewers and got a response quite quickly, which is great. Here is a copy of my questions and the answers that were given. It is apparent that the team is quite eager for a large draw and would of course, open additional seating if necessary. I'd first like to thank you for your valuable help in all things Brewers for our site. Your assistance is valued more than you know. That said, I am hoping to clear up a few things about the March 28-29 games at Miller Park. I was fortunate enough to obtain a pair of tickets to the Friday game (right behind home plate actually) I had inquired about .300 level tickets because those are my wife's favorite seats. I was told that as of 9:30 am, 300 and 400 level seating was not available. ANSWER: For now, we are only selling on the lower levels. If demand dictates, we will open additional seats in the 300 and 400 levels. Some of our younger fans (and older guys too) would be quite interested in any information we could be given as far as Autographs go for the On Deck Event. Is there a set section specific players will be located in? Are there items players would not sign? ANSWER: We typically announce this as we get within a couple days of the event. Given that we don't know who will be on the 25-man roster, it's tough to say who will be where and when. If the Saturday game is limited to the lower two levels of seating, I would assume that no additional tickets would be available for the actual On Deck Event. How will a relatively small crowd compared to last season) of about 20,000 help the organization assist the fans in a more friendly experience? ANSWER: We would love to have 40,000 people for both Friday and Saturday and if that happens, obviously we'll open the additional seats. Realistically, though, it would be a bit of a (very happy) surprise if we have that many people turn out for a pair of exhibitions...
  18. If you guys will just hang in there for a bit, I will do my very best to have your questions answered for you. Just give me a little time, and I'll see if we can't clear up the Fan Fest details and see if further seating will be made available.
  19. I see he has his email link there at the bottom of the page. Intersting.
  20. At about 9:30 this morning, I called to order Friday Night tickets for the .300 level. I was told that (at that particular time anyway) there were no .300 or 400 level seats available and would not be offered. Only the lower two tiers were being sold. I asked if that were going to be true for the Saturday Fan Fest game as well, but the phone operator could not answer me. I do not know if .300 level seats or 400 level seating will be made available or not. I ended up getting 2 seats in section 117 row 3 for Friday's game. I'm cool with it.
  21. I don't think that the Brewers low balled Fielder. I think that if you start letting Fielder tell you what he should make then all the rest of your young players from here on out will do the same. Both sides of the issue have to live with the system, both sides agreed to it. I hope that when Fielder is looking at Arbitration that he remembers how important it is to be "fair". I'm kinda thinking that Fielder will not be saying to himself as dollar figures are being passed around: "Ya know, I realize that in 2008 I didn't quite get what I thought I was worth, but I'm going to be fair. I want $12 M for '09, and the Brewers are offering me $8M. I think that it's fair I take $9M and call it a day." BZZT! Not! Fielder is going to stick it to Milwaukee and he knows it.
  22. I had not seen this thread when I posted information about this topic in another thread. This was a bit earlier than the other thread but since the other has a bit more complete information, I'll close this in favor of this thread. Thanks. Jamie pm'd author.
  23. Although I would like to see one more 300 game winner, I can not believe that Johnson will do it this season. He'd need a -huge- season after a season in which he threw 56 2/3 innings and then got shut down for back surgery. I'm not remotely convinced it will happen.
  24. Here's what was emailed to me: MILWAUKEE, WI - With the first four Spring Training games underway and Opening Day just four weeks from today, it won't be long before the season starts at Miller Park. In another preview of what is to come, the Milwaukee Brewers today announced that tickets for the Brewers two final exhibition games to be played at Miller Park against the Kansas City Royals on Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29 will go on sale to the general public tomorrow at 9 a.m. The Brewers will also host Brewers On Deck, the team's annual Fan Fest and season preview, at Miller Park prior to the Spring Training season finale on March 29, starting at 10 a.m. "With the great anticipation we all have for the start of the season, it's exciting that we are able to combine On Deck with an exhibition game this year," said Rick Schlesinger, Brewers Executive Vice President - Business Operations. "Brewers On Deck provides an opportunity for fans to meet and interact with players and coaches, and the exhibition games give everyone - players and fans alike - the chance to see everything that Miller Park has to offer." Tickets to both exhibition games will be priced at $10 apiece for all seat locations and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parking prices for the exhibition games will be $8 for general parking and $15 for preferred parking. As is the case for all regular season games, fans can also purchase parking passes in advance. Advance rates for daily parking passes are $8 (general) and $12 (preferred). Tickets may be purchased at the Miller Park Box Office, at brewers.com or by calling the Brewers Ticket Office at (414) 902-4000. All fans in attendance at the Friday evening game (March 28) at 7:05 p.m. will receive one of a series of 1982 Brewers bobbleheads produced for the 2007 Reunion. Meanwhile, prior to the Brewers Spring Training finale against Kansas City on Saturday, March 29 at 2:05 p.m., the Brewers will host Brewers On Deck. Please note: In order to gain admission to Brewers On Deck, fans will need to purchase a ticket to that day's game. On Deck features autograph sessions with players on the team's Opening Day roster, interactive games, clinics and activities for the entire family. Parking lots will open at 9 a.m. and gates to the ballpark open at 10 a.m. The autograph sessions will begin at 10:30 a.m. and there will be eight different stations where fans will be able to get autographs, including four on the field's warning track, one on each side of the Field Level concourse, and one on each side of the Loge Level concourse. A program will be distributed to all fans in attendance with times and locations for each player's autograph session. In addition, youngsters will have the opportunity to learn baseball instructions from the pros. The 30-minute clinics will include fundamental lessons provided by Brewers greats Jerry Augustine, Larry Hisle and Ken Sanders. The clinics will begin at 10:30 a.m. along the Field Level concourse in the right field corner. --more-- EXHIBITION GAMES/BREWERS ON DECK continued The day's festivities will also include a Brewers Charities Rummage Sale, featuring Brewers game-worn and game-used equipment such as jerseys, bats, autographed items and a large collection of Brewers paraphernalia. All proceeds from the rummage sale will support the youth recreation and education programs of Brewers Charities. The sale will take place on the Loge Level in the left field corner of the ballpark from 10 a.m. - noon. Brewers TV announcers Brian Anderson and Bill Schroeder will serve as emcees for the event and will interview players and staff, which will be aired on the center field video board. Also, Brewers radio announcer Jim Powell will interview members of the 2008 Brewers during a two-hour radio program on NewsRadio 620 WTMJ beginning at noon. The WTMJ radio booth will be located just outside of Friday's Front Row (across from the Fan Zone Store). Concession stands will be open throughout Miller Park and there will be baseball memorabilia on sale and displayed among the vendor booths near the right field corner on the Loge Level. In addition, the Brewers Fan Zone and kiosks throughout the stadium will offer a wide assortment of Brewers merchandise. Fans will also have an opportunity to check out the new Associated Bank Kids Zone and the Brewers Team Store at the Home Plate Gate With first pitch slated for 2:07 p.m. following Brewers On Deck, the Royals will take batting practice on the field from 11:40 - 12:40 p.m. Afterwards, the Brewers will take batting practice for an hour, beginning at 12:40 p.m. In the first three seasons that the Fan Fest has taken place at Miller Park, Brewers On Deck has attracted nearly 40,000 fans to the ballpark. This year marks the first time that an exhibition game will follow Brewers On Deck. For information about Brewers tickets, please contact the Brewers Ticket Office at (414) 902-4000 or go to brewers.com.
  25. I was chopping ice out in my driveway today and one chunk that fell off looked like Florida. It made me think of nice warm weather. I smashed it to bits.
