  1. We're watching what we eat, so it's nothing real good like Captain Crunch or anything. We're just talkin' Cheerios here.
  2. Taking into account the curse, I'd say maybe it should be a team photo of the Cubs.
  3. Don't forget that Miller Park was on one. The roof broke shortly after.
  4. With the flagship Milwaukee team shrinking its roster to 15 players and the interest the team drew, it's been suggested that a second team be formed. I have decided to explore this possibility and am now requesting that those interested start telling me so. Our first team is in league MS-385 which is a Super Saver League. This league is only 10 weeks and is therefore less money. This league is usually full and therefore probably not an option for us. I have contacted the Milwaukee Recreation Department and inquired about league openings. Slots are sometimes tough to come by so it although we will most likely have a slot someplace, it will not be in the Power League or the Super Saver League. Right now, I can not tell you on which nights the 2nd team will be playing. I won't know that for a while yet. Most likely, I won't have a night for you until the end of February. I can tell you it will be a 14 week season and it will be in the Milwaukee area someplace. I am going to need to know how much interest there is in a second team because if there is not enough interest, I'm going to concentrate my efforts elsewhere. I am also at this point going to need someone to volunteer to head this team. I am not in a position that allows me 2 nights a week for softball so I can only do the one team. I will take the first one to show interest so we can collaborate our efforts and narrow down league preferences. You will be the captain of this team and you will run it. I am only going to help launch it and get the thing running. I will help out with fees, etc. but other than that, it's all you. So- Players interested in participating in softball, please let us know via this thread. Skill level is completely open and all players get equal time. Please let us know below who you are and your desired position. At this point, it appears as if Co-Ed team leagues are full. I would need to know if there are any girls on the site interested in a Milwaukee area coed team. If you're a girl, and you would like to play, we will try to accommodate you. Thanks Guys.
  5. Milwaukee Brewers Pitcher and Restaurateur Jeff Suppan Announces Private Launch Party for Soup's Grill Local Sports Figures Attend Thursday, January 24 Event Woodland Hills, Calif. - Milwaukee Brewers pitcher and San Fernando Valley native Jeff Suppan along with wife Dana announced today plans to host a private launch party on Thursday, January 24, 2008 in celebration of Soup's Grill, the couple's second owned and operated restaurant. The event begins at 7:00PM and features an all-star line-up of guests including: 2-time Cy Young Award winner Bret Saberhagen, '07 NL Rookie of the Year Ryan Braun; Angels Outfielder and '06 AL All-Star Gary Matthews Jr.; former pitcher and FSN West analyst Mark Gubicza and Milwaukee Brewers owner Mark Attanasio. In a mission to create a sports oriented, family environment, the Suppan's have brought Soup's Grill to the Valley. Incorporating themes of America's past-time, Soup's Grill features a Major League Baseball replica dugout and oversized baseball glove chairs where patrons can dine. A sports fan's dream, Soup's Grill offers eleven high-definition flat screen televisions and a remarkable collection of sports memorabilia complete with authentic Busch Stadium seats. "Dana and I have tried to create an experience the whole family can enjoy. From our rooftop seating to our detailed menu and exceptional service, we think this will be a long lasting relationship for everyone that walks through our doors," said Suppan. Soup's Grill, appropriately named after Jeff's longtime nickname, first opened its doors on November 16, 2007 and boasts a menu that includes: fresh soup and salads, signature cheesesteaks and Larry's chili - named after Jeff's father. Soup's Grill also offers a full kid friendly menu. About Jeff Suppan After starring at Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino, Jeff was a 2nd round pick of the Boston Red Sox in the 1993 June draft. In 1999 Jeff came into his own with the Kansas City Royals becoming an ace on the staff pitching 200+ innings for the Royals in four consecutive seasons. In 2004 Jeff returned to the National League and put together back-to-back 16 win seasons for the St. Louis Cardinals. 2006 was a magical year for Jeff and the Cards as they won the NL Central for the 3rd straight year. Jeff was named MVP of the NLCS and the Cardinals went on to win the World Series. Last season Jeff signed with the Milwaukee Brewers and his 12 wins were tied for the team lead as the Brew Crew finished 2nd in the NL Central.
  6. I heard enough Hannah Montana last night to make me want to kill myself. Now imagine having a 4 1/2 yr. old girl who's nuts about Hannah Montana and you can imagine my pain. I especially like the 8 hour marathons of the TV show. Ugh. edit: What normal adult would be playing Hannah Montana songs in a bar anyhow???
  7. I have cabin fever right now. However; it is so dang cold out that I don't wanna do much.
  8. I did go to the gym today and I did get approached by my trainer. "We need to increase your program. You're doing great." is what she said. I did my cycle today and totaled 25,000 pounds. I'm starting to see a difference to my appearance. Feels pretty good.
  9. I am in full support of a mandatory "cover yourself with a towel or something" law being enforced in men's locker rooms. Also, it should be punishable with prison terms if you do not wear a swimming suit in the whirlpool. Ya try to go workout and maybe shoot some hoops or something and ya gotta see that stuff. yuck. I don't think I'll ever be right from what I saw the other day. Picture a Wolly Mammoth in all its glory walking around the locker room.
  10. Do you like fish/swimming/water/aquatic life/sea horses? Yes, as a matter of fact I have had fish tanks in the past. Mary and I are thinking about getting a small reef tank set up with live rock, etc. and I was going to actually try putting a sea horse or two in there.
  11. I have a framed print of a fish on the wall of our office, but I'm not a fisherman. I don't even like fishing.
  12. Call it nutty, but for some odd reason Mary and I like to watch the shows on National Geographic, Discovery, etc. that show prisons in America. Good stuff.
  13. Eating a bowl of Cheerios and eating a Baconator from Wendy's are not the same thing. Cheerios are better. the Baconator is -better.- You guys can trust me on this.
  14. Cally me crazy, but I've often felt it would be hilarious to go into the bathroom in a crowded bar and stand in front of the urinal and then dance.
  15. My daughter's 'Baby Alive' doll. That's what's bugging me.
  16. We went out for dinner tonight, and in about a half an hour I'm going out for a few beers with a friend. I'm gonna stop off for a pack of smokes first though. I'm like the government.
  17. My boss sucks, my workplace sucks too. I had a bad day man. Very bad.
  18. And here I thought I was being clever by announcing a Cleveland/Philadelphia World Series... IF it's NY and CHI, I'm not watching it. (ok, maybe I will, but it would be under protest)
  19. ALDS Los Angels Anaheim California in five games Cleveland in five games NLDS Philly in four games Arizonia sweeps ALCS Cleveland wins it in 6 games Philly in the 7th game WS Cleveland takes the whole shootin' match in 6
  20. I'd like to try getting a few of the 1980's bobble heads to add to my shelf of stuff that collects dust. I currently have the following big sized guys: Uecker Yount Molitor Thomas Fingers Gantner Cooper (white and blue) I also currently have these 5" dudes Caldwell Kuenn Oglivie Cooper I'd like a blue 5" Cooper or any 5" players not on my list. I'd also entertain ideas of larger sized bobbles of 1980's players. I'm not hugely into the bobble collecting but some of the players of my youth would be neat. I have for trade 2006 Turnbow white (hair deal) 2005 Miller white (removable mask) 2005 Sheets white None of my bobbles have the boxes or ticket stubs. They have been on the shelf since I got them. I remember at the Turnbow bobble game he blew the save. I saw that someone had ripped the head off of their Turnbow bobble and whipped it out into right field. Mine still has the head.
  21. Yeah. Ya try to be nice, and your Brewers Chef Hat gets stolen for your efforts. Bummer. I hope that woman gets hit by a bus.
  22. The weather was perfect, the food was great, our team won...the best part of the day was the people! It was so good to see everyone. The Brewerfan.netters are such a special group. Mary and I cannot remember the last time we tailgated and watched a game in better company. Thank you!
  23. I think I'm going to sit by Laura and her brownies. Either that, or everyone will be crowded around the grills. That's right 2 grills going. I have about thirty bratwurst to take care of. I'll use one large grill to cook and another large one to keep the brats warm. I plan to snuggle them in a fine bed of sauerkraut, onion, and beer. That my friends is how much I love you all.
