  1. Okie doke. Consider it a done deal.
  2. Well that sucked. Tough team. Very solid on defense.
  3. Well, maybe Mary and Rachel will stay home too. I'll check with her. It would have been nice to see Henry and the wifes, but that's how the cookie crumbles.
  4. Defensive Lineup is as follows: P- BrewerfanMatt (1,2) C- Brian (1) ICN (2) 1b- Robin 19 (1), RightOmatic (2) 2b- Jamie(1,2) 3b- Razzorsharp(1) Radman (2) SS- Valpo (1,2) LF- Houlie (1,2) LC- AJ (1,2) RC- Nullbyte (1) Colbyjack (2) RF- Jimbo (1) Nullbyte (2)
  5. MILWAUKEE, Wis. ? Two upcoming Milwaukee Brewers games have been added to the national FOX television schedule, necessitating game time changes. AWAY The game on Saturday, June 30 at the Chicago Cubs has been moved from a 12:05 p.m. CT first pitch to 2:55 p.m. HOME The home game on Saturday, July 21 against the Giants at Miller Park has also been moved to 2:55 p.m. CT from its originally scheduled 6:05 p.m. first pitch. Both of these games will be televised in the Milwaukee Home Television Territory on FOX only.
  6. Fill up those stands Brewer fans! Shut down the Cub crowd! Let's make this IGT a very short one with very few posts because everyone is at the game. I can't make it until tomorrow, so I'll listen on the radio. Make it so I don't hear the annoying ones!
  7. For right now, I'd think the trading forum would be the best. I really appreciate your offer but I have to slow down a bit on give aways. It's become increasingly difficult for me to dedicate the time for that and runs to the post office. Speaking of which, in an IGT I guaranteed a Brewers victory. They lost. I offered up a T-shirt but have unfortunately lost the winners address information. If you're reading this, please re send me your information. Thanks again BHF. If someone wanted to run their own contest and give out a prize that would be fine by me. I just seem to be getting a bit overwhelmed this season. Thanks guys
  8. It's nice to have you along with us. This is a fine community and we are a bunch of die hards.
  9. At first I thought I'd lock this thread down. Next I figured I would have Sheetswannabe banned from the site. I've decided that neither option is worth it because after reading this and typing what was a wicked response, I looked over my right shoulder and saw not Dusty (whom is now departed) but his successor, Lou. Lou was just outside the window staring me down. Daring me to hit the "add post" button. I was almost there, my hand on the mouse, the cursor right there, but he was still staring at me. I knew not to send the original message into cyber land because he was pumping his little left fist at me while smoke from his Cigarette clouded his face. He appeared to be glaring through a fog. A fog of misery and horror. During our stare down I realized that Lou was not in a tree, not on a roof, not on a phone line. He was in fact, hovering in mid air. He just hung there like an infield pop-up. The thing that made the situation odd was not his squirrel cigarette. Not his David Blaine-like levitation trick (I live on the second floor by the way) not his fist pumping, but the photo he produced. He pulled a Polaroid out of his back pocket. It was a picture of the neighbor's parakeet. Lou showed me the photo so I knew who it was and then he made a "cutting" action across his throat using his left paw. The paw was some how deformed. It had 6 fingers, one of which kept flipping me off. Lou made it clear that if I somehow affected Sheetswannabe that the little parakeet named Larry would be offed in some god forsaken way. Maybe a peanut bomb, perhaps a Mack truck driven by a lunatic pigeon wearing a Metallica shirt would accidentally roll over his cage. What ever the outcome, it would not be pretty. I'd then have to face a life of parakeet hauntings. Trust me. You don't want a parakeet haunting you. I know a guy in Alabama who is going through it. Lou is still "hanging out" beside my window but that's ok, I called the cops on him again. The cops know my address. They said they would be right over and I was to remain home. It was suggested I "pack a suitcase for a little trip". Perhaps they are taking me to a safe house. Perhaps, and more likely, they will be taking me to a federal agency where the men in white coats give you white M&M's while you reveal the communist plots launched by the squirrel population in my back yard. I've met those agents before and I think they are going to offer me a job next time I see them. Perhaps it'll be my mission to travel the city's parks taking notes on rodent activities. Scheming, always scheming. Maybe the feds will use me as a plant within the squirrel Mafia's inner circle. I could dress like a plant. I know I could. Green pants, green shirt with a yellow collar, a sunrise colored wool knit cap and some gloves? I could pull it off. I just need to find a clay pot large enough for me to stand in. I'm going to ask at the garden center down the street. They enjoy my company so much and treat me so well that the managers walk along with me and shield me from other customers while I shop for necessities like gopher gunk, lawn guns, bullets that can be operated my remote control, you know, crime fighter stuff. I best get going now. Someone's knocking on the door. It's probably the federal agency and the local cops even though they are announcing themselves as orderlies for "Belleview Psychiatric" I know the score. I'm down. I'll play it their way for National Security's sake. Oh and by the way- I think I'll ask them to stop by -your house- sheetswannabe. I'd imagine we'd like to have a word with you. You've clearly aligned yourself with the evil side of things and it's time for a bit of questioning. You may want to bring along an extra pair of socks. (though you won't need them because torture rarely requires proper foot hygiene. I hope nobody can hear me saying this and I'm glad I'm not typing it to warn you. I think putting you into a phone booth with two muskrats and then switching out brains is a suitable solution. I'd best not make an inclination of this though or sheetswannabe will know I"m after him) Bye for now. I need to answer the door and put on one of those neat-o jackets they give ya for the ride downtown.
  10. It just aired on the news. Right now they are speculating a gas explosion. I saw the video taken and the place where the explosion occurred is totally flattened. Completely annihilated and the houses on either side took major damage.
  11. Man, I hope that injuries are at a minimum. Hope it was not some Meth Lab that went up. That could be catastrophic. This is pretty close to our house. From 620 WTMJ's site: Breaking news at this hour, an explosion at a house in Wauwatosa at 109th and West Wisconsin, near Highway 100 and Bluemound. Initial eyewitness reports and scanner traffic indicate one house was destroyed, another is on fire and up to 8 additional homes suffered damage. Numerous fire departments have been called to the scene - there is no immediate word on injuries. Smoke can be seen rising from the area. Initial reports indicate there are several injuries, although we don't know how serious those are. We also don't know at this time whether all residents are accounted for.
  12. Pinned it fer ya.
  13. I can't seem to sleep for some reason so I'm at the computer. I was not really referring to tonight's game as much as in general. Maybe the rover thing is not good. I know we tried it and didn't like it too much. We may very well have played a bit too deep on them which is where the rover idea came from. Against some teams, stacking up the defense seems like a good idea to me. Bay Street is full of big hitters who should be in a competitive league. If they feel great about having all softball heads out there and winning a social league so be it I guess. Perhaps the past few weeks have been skewing my ideas a bit. It just seems that 2 of the past 3 teams have been hitting little stuff that falls in front of us. Should we consider employing a left field heavy outfield? Nobody really seems to go to right all that often (still happens though) having the RC more behind second base? Should second base play closer to the bag? Should SS play deeper and 3B a bit more towards second base? Should we assign positions to guys and that's it? One week a guy splits time with a partner in RF, then they switch halves the next week. Something like that? These two RF partners would then stay at that position all season. Is that an idea to consider? Our outfield is good but sometimes guys express concerns to me about different things. I am starting to think that assigned positions would be a good idea. What do you all think?
  14. Shot to the melon has not slowed him down a bit.
  15. Yeah, I know. Like I said, unforeseen circumstances arise. There was one in the last game though so I just wanted to mention it.
  16. Tonight we had a no-show no-call player. Accidents happen, things come up, but if you know you will miss a game, let me know asap please. If there is an unexcused absence, that player is DH the next game and won't field. Defensive star or not, it's gotta be a rule.
  17. We're having a good season so far and I'm proud of the team. This is of course, a social league, but it's nice to win. I'd like to throw out an idea for discussion. Our batting lineup remains the same from game to game, but will probably get a tweak or two after the half way point. What if we were to keep the same defense for the season as well? Other teams do it. Switching guys around to different positions all the time makes for tough transitions I think. This would mean that defensive playing time would be cut down for most of the team. We have 16 guys and only 10 positions to fill. Would some people be willing to DH all the time (and full time base coach)? Keep score and stats? We have to figure something out defensively. Outfield is tough for late games, I know. We as a team, need to shore up the defense for the outfield and consider shifting guys more to the left, or moving RC into a rover type position. Perhaps a full time DH could help direct outfielders? What do you guys think? If you don't feel comfortable answering here, PM me. I'd really like to get some ideas from the team.
  18. Heck of a game tonight. That was a lot of fun. I could do with out the drama next week, so let's just win by a large margin, ok? 3-1 and in first place. Nice catch at the end to seal the deal Robin19! edit: player name (had nullbyte)
  19. Not raining. It's clearing up and the sidewalks are starting to dry off. I just called the field and WE ARE PLAYING. SHOW UP FOR THE GAME.
  20. There has been talk of a nick name for this team. I have the following suggestions: Bill Hall Stinks Team Craptackular.
  21. Is that reverse mojo there Jamie? A weak one perhaps, but yes, it is the reverse mojo.
  22. Bill Hall could not get on base if he were intentionally walked. Hall could not get a hit if the defense left the field. Hall's new chant goes from Bill! (clap,clap...clap) Hall! to Bill! (crickets chirping, sound of wind caused by his flailing swings, Strike out! ) Hall!
  23. 5:20 PM I called the Sijan Field House and as of this moment, GAMES ARE STILL ON AND WILL BE PLAYED. It's very important that we field at least 10 players to avoid a forfeit. See you at 9!
