I'm going to go to Hegan's tonight, probably around 6:30 or 7. I missed Sunday's practice and I feel like taking some cuts. I just hope I don't rip too many holes in the cage or have everyone stop what they are doing to watch me and ask for my autograph again. It's getting bothersome. If you're there, you'll know who I am just by the deafening sound of the ball exploding off the bat. I like to wear a large pair of headphones (like you'd wear in a shooting range) when I hit to protect myself from hearing damage. I'm gonna wear a skin tight neoprene shirt to display the pythons for all to see. I like to grab like 6-7 bats for practice swings to warm up, I do some push-ups in the cage too. I also like to run laps around the inside of the cage to loosen up the ol' legs of swiftness. Sometimes I have to bandage up my whold right forearm with ace bandages and wrist bands to avoid having the triceps rip out of my skin again (they are bulging ya know). I think I'm going to change the name on my jersey to "Crusher" and I'll probably carry a garden rake in my bat bag just so people know ahead of time to fear me. I'm also going to spray paint lightning bolts on by equiptment bag and have "Slugger" carved into my hair on the side of my head. I went out and got myself that pink Jenny Finch bat too. I don't care if it's pink, I plan on hitting so much the paint will just melt off the bat anyway. edit: I just got back from the store. I went and bought some Wheaties for extra insurance. I'm going to write to them and offer my face for their cereal boxes.

Some of you have contacted me privately or posted on this forum about the league rules. Here are some of the common concerns: What if there is a rainout? Rainouts are determined by each specific field. While one part of town may have its games rained out, others may still play. Some fields drain better than others, some have a more aggressive grounds crewman. If you are questioning the weather or field conditions, check the forum for an announcement. I have a phone number I must call prior to questionable games. I will not and can not give that number out (to avoid phone jams). I will post if the game is cancelled or not, I don't have the time to call all of you. Rainout information is also available at milwaukeerecreation.net someplace. MKE Rec will attempt to reschedule all rainouts. make up dates will be announced to the managers and I will then post the new date. We field 10, but how many can bat? All team members on the daily lineup card will bat. If you are playing the field or not, you will be given at bats. Non-starting players will be brought into the game about half way through. Baserunners can be replaced, fielders rearranged, etc. What if we don't have enough guys to field a whole team? We forefit and have to pay a $30.00 fee which is due immediately. If not paid before the next game, we are removed from the league. Can I have a beer during the game? Only if you want yourself and I suspended from the league. Observers are not allowed alcohol either. What are the key pitching rules? Milwaukee Rec follows the rules of ASA Softball not only for field rules, but also for bat restrictions. feel free to visit asasoftball.com for further information. Pitching is restriced from a minimum 6' arc to a maximum 12' arc. Pitchers are allowed to put spin on the ball, or deliver how they want. Foot must be on the rubber for the delivery. Sweet Dude. Missed games must be reported to me inadvance or posted here for myself and Jimbo to see so the lineup can be adjusted. Failure to report an absence results in a fine of 1 pitcher of not crappy beer at an end of season party. You will also be moved to the bottom of the order. Will the batting order change? I'm hoping that positions and batting order will remain the same through the season, but if ya wanna change, lemmie know. Are all the fees paid? Yup. I have turned in team fees and player fees. I have recipts for all expenses associated with the team. Recipts are open to your viewing, just ask or look in the team folder, recipts and player card stubs are in a brown envelope. What's our league called? Men's social, MS-385. Do we have an end of season Tournament? That question has yet to be answered in rule books, flyers, or phone calls. I was late for the chat room meeting. Oops. I got preoccupied with house stuff and watching Family Guy. I finally made it though. I think I may have to give myself a fine and a stern talking to. I can't let this escalate to affect the clubhouse.

Yup. DH just means that you don't -start- with a defensive position. You bat in the order, and at about half way through the game you will take a position. We are thinking of keeping the same basic batting order to breed a farmiliar feel to the order. Spots in the lineup are subject to change.

I just want to know why I wasn't invited to last nights party. Everyone was invited. Messages were posted all over the place.

First you guys get to see a geratric SF Giant blow his ankle to shreads, now you will see Ben Hendrickson's arm fall off. Yup, Moises Alou the man who pees on his hands to "toughen up the skin" totaled his ankle trying to grab a foul ball has injured himself. At his age, he's lucky it was not a broken hip. What's more, LA will have the privlige of teeing off on Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Ben Hendrickson, aka "little Ben." Little Ben couldn't manage a strike if he were a union leader. Hendrickson will get crushed like the ice on a snow cone. Geoff Jenkins couldn't get a hit if he had a twenty dollar bill and was in front of a crack house. Geoff Jenkins sucks. Robin Yount, the team's bench coach, was hospitalized yesterday for what most likely was the bird flu. (he's a Robin get it?) Hopefully he's ok, cause we're gonna need him to grab a freakin' bat or glove and help the team out. Back to Ben Hendrickson: The best thing he could do for the team is leave it. Maybe Hendrickson will get a neck injury twisting his head back over his shoulder watching all the drives off his pitches.
