  1. Left-hander Doug Davis (2-2, 4.76) will take the mound Tuesday night looking to continue the Brewers' recent road success. Milwaukee improved to 5-5 on the road after taking two out of three games in San Francisco. Davis, who is 42-43 in his career with a 4.37 ERA, has lost his last two starts after winning his first two. He surrendered four runs (three earned) on six hits over 4 1/3 innings against St. Louis at Miller Park on April 16. In his last start, April 21 at Houston, Davis allowed six runs (five earned) on five hits in 5 1/3 innings. MIL: LHP Doug Davis ? 2-2, 4.76 ERA in 2005 ? 0-1, 6.23 in 2005 vs. STL STL: RHP Jeff Suppan ? 1-2, 3.38 ERA in 2005 ? 1-0, 0.00 in 2005 vs. MIL
  2. In what was to be a rematch of Sheets/Suppan, Wes Obermuller gets the nod as Brewer ace Ben Sheets recovers from an inner ear infection. Sheets is scheduled to go on Saturday 4/30 when the Crew plays host to the Reds. Last time Suppan faced the Crew was in Milwaukee where he absolutely dominated the Crew going 8 1/3 scorless innings scattering 5 hits while walking 2 and fanning 3. Long reliever Wes Obbermuller's last start was September 25th where he faced Houston and allowed 6 hits and no runs. the numbers: MIL: RHP Wes Obermueller ? 0-0, 2.25 ERA in 2005 ? 0-0, 3.38 ERA in 2005 vs. STL STL: RHP Jeff Suppan ? 1-2, 3.38 ERA in 2005 ? 1-0, 0.00 ERA in 2005 vs. MIL
  3. Pitching matchup MIL: RHP Gary Glover ? 0-1, 4.38 ERA in 2005 ? Did not face SF in 2004 SF: RHP Jerome Williams ? 0-1, 4.63 ERA in 2005 ? 1-0, 4.50 ERA in 2004 vs. MIL
  4. It's official. We're in the basement. Tied at the moment, but I'm sure with the way things are going we will be all alone quite soon.
  5. Pittsburgh won. We are losing and will probably lose. Guess where we'll be at the end of today? We're back to the old farmiliar place. We are in the basement. The Cellar. Last place.
  6. All drink Hamms tomorrow so we can get 2 stright!!! Sweet.
  7. I'm going out for the game. I've decided that the best way to view this evenings comedy of errors is by whacking back a few beers. Let's hope the Crew turns things around or at least, waits to make a bone headed play until I've had at least one beer in peace. If you wanna stop by, I'll be at my friend Dave's house. He lives west of here.
  8. H- You have to turn that feature on. You can do that on the "edit profile" page. just click the box and then save changes.
  9. Maybe we should just make the official meeting area/seating area section 204 then. Is there some official anouncement to make? Should we (you) try to make this known somehow? This probably won't work on Friday games though, that section becomes the Miller Lite Beer Pen. then again, Friday may be the best day......
  10. Believe it or not, FSN is replaying last night's game right now. Tune it to watch Helms gaff that throw again,etc...
  11. I was thinking of 204, but maybe we could get you a ticket for a neat little area called Giants 1. thats the parking area....
  12. It's a comfort thing entirely. However- a bf.net bleacher area is a great idea. I'm a BF Bleacher Creature. (wait, that's gross) Here's a seating chart: maybe a section in the Jenkins Jungle? http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/mil/images/y2005_tickets/im_2004_seating_map_581x437.gif
  13. Fair enough. Bleacher seats are a good place also. I just didn't think of it because I'm not a fan of bleacher seats at all. They do have their charm though.
  14. I've looked at the Brewers web site to try and find a pretty logical and centralized meeting location for people. Obviously, the 300 level is out of the question, and the 400 and 100 levels would be rather far to travel, so the 200 level seems the closest to a half way point. I also looked to see if there was a specific landmark (food stand, etc) around the home plate area (middle of the park) and have come of the opinion that right outside of Section #217 would be easy to remember and represent BF.Net well since it is a Family Section. Otherwise, maybe we could maybe make a "standard" Brewer seating area on the 400 level (cheap, still very good) in between home and first base- perhaps section 416. Section 417 is also a family section and if someone wanted family section seating, they'd be right next to the bf.netters who didn't want to sit amongst lots of kids or be able to have a beer if desired. How does that sound?
  15. President / Dir of Site Ops Posts: 30 haha, I have more posts than the Prez/Director! How great a site can this be if the "owner" has only 30 posts? You're only a rookie, what could you possibly know?
  16. I'd also like to point out that being only 13 games into the season, trends have not yet even been severely established. Our hitters have less than 100 AB's each, and we all know that batting avg' will take drastic swings under 100 ab's. People calling for Yost's head need to realize that in the 13 games we've seen, he's tried more aggression on the basepaths, and kept pretty much the same lineups, etc. Why not give the guy a chance to tweak things a little? I honestly believe that Ned Yost is a better baseball manager than anyone here (hence you being here and he being in the dugout) It's been pointed out that we started against the Pirates, who are weaker than us. We as fans have the general expectation of beating Pittsburgh in the standings, and being behing teams like the Cubs, Cards, and Houston. Guess what? We lost to the Cards and the Cubs. This was to be expected. The Dodgers are a favorite to win the NL West, and we still play them 4 games. I'm quite sure that we'll take a series from the Cards and the Cubs to even things up a bit, but truth be told those two teams are better than us. If you looked at the schedule going into April, you'd have had to realize it would be tough sledding. April has been after all, filled with a division opponent who seems to have owned us lately (Pitt), another division opponent who just missed the playoffs, Los Angeles who had a great 2004, and only leads the NL in runs scored and faced the bottom of our rotation, and oh yeah, that other division rival team that won a trillion games last year and went to the World Series. April holds a nightmare road trip of Houston, San Francisco, and St.Louis before we come home to the Reds. May on the other hand has us home against the Cubs and who knows if Wood or Prior will even be active much less pitching, a Met team that will collapse at any minute, and the Phillies. Then we face Pitt on the road, go into Washington (who will be a fallen star) and then a Minnesota team who we always play tough. Then we get well at home against a Colorado team that may not win 60 games this year. All in all, I'm not ready to write this one off. Another thing I can't quite figure out- did anyone here think that we were playoff bound? If you thought we were a division contender, than by all means start freaking out. Otherwise, you've got time untill things start getting hairy. If you thought that playoffs was too high an expectation, and adjusted your thoughts to .500 ball, look at May's schedule and tell me they won't make a bit of a run. If you were more realistic in your projections like myself and several others, you'd have said something like 72-78 wins and we're no where near off the pace for that. I personally thought that we'd get 74-78 wins and I'm sticking to it. That is all.
  17. OOOOOOHHH!!! with a bases clearing double. 6-donut Crew!
  18. I wonder what happened to Dessens? edit: later in the game it was announced he had muscle spasms in his right shoulder.
  19. I know it would increase page views, but maybe it'd be possible to have a thread stickied (is that a word?) where you can say I'm going to so and so game and will seat in this location.... It's a possible way for BF.Netters to hang out, be seen and become a comanding force within the hallowed foul lines known as Miller Park. example: 4-18's game I'm sitting in sec.423 row 4 seat 4&5 stop by for a beer or soda and some ball talk. OR I'll be in from out of town, I live on Mars. I will be at May 6th's game against the Mets. I have tickets for sec.217 row 9, seats 10-13. Please stop by and see my ray gun. I've never been to Miller Park and would like a tour. can somebody show me around?
  20. Hawing- wish I'd have known you'd be there, I'd have come to your seats andsaid hi. This was not the first game of roof open play, the first game was on either Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
  21. Ok- back from the game. Now that I'm done eating steak and eggs the wife made me, I feel better. I guess I can't tell ya too much about the game you don't know, so I guess I'll just say a few things you may not have noticed. -- The ball did not seem to carry all that great with the roof closed (minus the Bradley shot) Milwaukee may have had a homer or two otherwise. -- There were quite a few Dodger fans there. --It's not the Pfister Hotel that's haunted, it's the Brewer bats. --I parked for free and walked in. Some guy by Helfaer gave me a free ticket, I brought a sandwich, soda, and chips with me in a promotional cooler along with my scorebook and walkman. Total cost was nothing. --My ticket was for the 400 level somewhere. I never even saw my seat. I sat in the 100 level. --I should have made a sign telling the Dodgers that if they win, the Pfister ghosts are gonna be ticked.
  22. I'll be at the game too- should be a good time. Let's hope that the Dodgers are tired, and the Brewers are hugry for a few runs. Think I'm going to buy a $5 ticket and sit where ever I want to. (That's one plus about a bad team- buy cheap seats, move down.)
  23. From Prarieghosts.com:Pfister Hotel, where the ghost of founder Charles Pfister reportedly greets guests and has returned to make sure that they are well taken care of. He has been spotted looking over the lobby from a spot on the grand staircase and has also been seen walking in the gallery above the ballroom. Witnesses identify him from a portrait of him that hangs in the lobby. From Marquettetribune.org:Phantom dogs are said to run up and down the halls of The Pfister Hotel, 424 E. Wisconsin Ave., If you think that's odd, this is my 666th post, and I'm in the Pfister right now. Wait, someone's in my closet..... N-n-n-ice doggy! Hey mister, is that your dog? What are you doing with that knife? Hey, don't....
