I gotta stop turning these games off when they are 7-0 in the 3rd inning. (See Yankee/Red Sox series) Come here to see what's going on and click the gamecast and voila'! It's 7-7??!!!! omg what did I do? But I did get to see George Kottaras do something Wil Nieves wouldn't have. Come on AX-MAN!!!!!!
Well that was a terrible game. I admit I turned it off when the 3 run homer was hit in the first inning. Checked in on the net a few times but saw it got worse and finished terribly. Still a chance the Royals come back and the Brewers hold a 1 game lead. Amazing they played this poorly and still sit in 1st place. Hope the new week brings better results.
Ok everyone, Get ready to sell your first-borns! Prince has got to stay in Milwaukee. Sigh, losing him will be a big hurt. But the whole silver-lining in this if he is lost will be the glaring light shining on overpaid athletes. And at a time when the US economy is in the toilet. The insanity started back in the late 80's with the jump to $3 million per year contracts. (wow that's still a lot of money) The increase in player pay has EXPONENTIALLY outstripped the wages of the rest of us. This goes for all professional sports. (Prince please be reasonable and stay)
Yep, that's correct the Brewers have swept the Cards on the road. But it is true this is the first home sweep of the Cardinals since 2007. They kept bringing this up during the telecast today. I don't totally hold this against Tim Allen. But a sweep is a sweep. And it came vs. the Cardinals to top it off for first place. This is good stuff.
Well, I am just stating a fact. I realize it would take more than Betancourt to get Hardy from the Orioles. And we cleaned out a good portion of our minor league system to get a decent pitching staff. But Bill Hall??!! Do we really want to watch him strike out every 2.2 ab's? (this includes with risp or on base) Sorry just don't see the fascination with him.
Ok it's 10-1 and the Brewers are tearing the cover off the baseball. How long til a Brewers batter gets plunked? And if it happens will any of the Brewer pitchers respond?
Wow, Just saw this on the ESPN team rankings. The Brewers' .671 Defensive Efficiency Rating -- a measure of how often balls in play are turned into outs -- ranks last in the majors. This really explains the season to a tee.
Is this season over yet? Wow, when things go bad they certainly go bad for this year's team. Braun made a terrible throw to the plate. And LuCroy not making an effort to at least bump Ruiz when he was waiting by the plate is galling. 4 home runs by the Crew were nice but would have been better had there been some runners on. I agree the home plate umpire tonight was not very good. They showed the 1-0 pitch by Braddock on FoxTrax and it was a strike right down the middle at the top of the strikezone. Well hope the Brewers can salvage one game. There's always tomorrow.
Just bumping up. I had to repost in Craiglist as the original links expired. I have also added a Ben Sheets 2000 All-Star Futures Game Bobblehead to the mix. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks, Yaz
So when does this experiment end? Manny Parra is the Bill Travers of this version of the Milwaukee Brewers. The sad thing is Parra is not getting any better where as Travers did. Manny ran out of gas in the 6th again tonight. Was glad to see he only allowed 1 run but shouldn't you ask that much vs. the D-Backs? Parra as has been observed elsewhere as being suited for long relief or maybe even a specialty pitcher to get lefties out. The Brewers are pressed for pitching and unfortunately Manny will get the ball every 5th day. Well it's something I hope the Brewers management will address in the upcoming off season.
Since Friday I have not been able to access this site using Brewerfan.net. I type in the site address and the site acts like it wants to load and finally times out on me. I arrived here in the forum by doing a google of Brewerfan since I wanted to see if something had changed. I am using Firefox with OPENDNS for my DNS servers. As I said never had these problems until this weekend. Thanks, Yaz
I am bumping this up to the top. I am willing to cut a deal for Brewerfan for these bobbleheads. I will offer both for $25 each or $45 for both. This is less than the Craigslist ads. Thanks, Yaz

Just out of curiosity why wouldn't the Brewers leave Hardy in Nashville til the end of their season? Believe it or not, they might make the postseason. It would give Hardy a chance to get some of his drive back especially if he is contributing in a playoff atmosphere. And this would allow the Brewers to give Escobar more playing time up here. Unless of course they send Escobar back down for Hardy. But why would they even consider doing that? I really think the AAA call-ups aren't going to happen until the end of the Nashville season plays itself out. I just saw Nashville starts a big time series w/ 1st place Memphis tomorrow.
Oh my how could they drop the ball on this one? Doug Davis over Jeff Suppan all the time. Ah well, I personally think Vargas could be more effective than Suppan. I hope they start to stretch Vargas out some more and get him into the rotation in September. Relegate Suppan to pitching batting practice when games are out of reach.
I am a Brewers fan and if the team underperforms like this than a Vent Thread has every right to exist on this site. And if you don't want to vent with those of us fans who care, then don't read it. Getting shellacked by the Nats. >:-( Jeff Suppan. >:-(
Hi, Wow, haven't posted here in ages. But it begs the question. What is the deal with the stats updating for the Power 50? I just clicked on Mat Gamel and the stats are only current through 2006. Also, what is Mat's favorite jam? :-)
