  1. Brandon Phillips shouldn't be an All Star starter with his .745 OPS. Weeks has the better numbers even if you factor in defense.
  2. Danny Keller is our 6th round pick out of Newbury Park HS. He seems pretty skinny at 6'5" 190 lbs. Hopefully he builds up his strength.
  3. It's just depressing watching him manage and listening to him. I don't understand how in the long run giving up outs will help us score more runs. I'm not a statistician, but I'm going to guess that his theory is flawed.
  4. The aggressive baserunning is not working. Memo to Roenicke: Knock it off.
  5. I love how they say it's free, then you click and it's blacked out. If we go to MLB.com using a proxy server in another country or another state, could that bypass the blackout? The blackout is only for Wisconsin right? We're not allowed to answer that question for legal reasons.
  6. The shift didn't work too well against Chipper Jones there.
  7. Well the strike zone got expanded nicely there for Venters. Ugh.
  8. Nope. Bring back Macha or even Yost. They at least understood that outs were valuable.
  9. When's the last time the Brewers had the bases loaded? Seems like eons ago.
  10. Anyone listening to the Braves feed with Jim Powell? He's made some Uecker references already and it's some pretty funny stuff. I heart Powell.
  11. What site are you looking at for stats? According to fangraphs, Prince has a higher career OBP.
  12. They both have similar Line Drive vs Ground Ball percentages and their ISO's are very simlar as well. The 18 point OBP advantage that Prince has in his career vs Braun's career stats seems to give Prince the slight edge. Braun has a 22 point advantage on slugging percentage, but as we were taught by the brainiacs on this site OBP is more important that SLG.
  13. McGehee gets robbed again on a smash to Howard. Can we get some luck please?
  14. There was some terrible managing in this game. I'm glad we can still win despite the incompetence of our manager. He made several mistakes that didn't cost him.
  15. Given the weather in Wisconsin right now, I think I'd take Tampa or Arizona despite the music annoyances.
  16. I like the Mario Bros music that they play. It reminds me of the days of my misspent youth.
  17. Why give up on a Supplemental pick so early? They still had control of him and could have given him some more time to figure things out. I am puzzled by this decision because it was a decision that wasn't needed to be made. Oh well, though. He probably just doesn't have the control to be a major league pitcher and Jack Z takes another strike to his inability to draft good starting pitching.
  18. "It's just some posterior tightness," said Rogers. "Other than that, my arm has been feeling good. I had my best bullpen of the spring last time out. This was merely precautionary." That doesn't sound to serious to me. I'm not worried... yet.
  19. This spells doom for the Cardinals especially since Carpenter is an injury waiting to happen as well. They're going to have to score a lot of runs this year to compete with the rest of the division.
