  1. I really like Santana and think he will be a solid player, but not a star. I think he will OPS around 750-850. With 850 being his best year(s). His hands are so quick and he has easy power. Last night he hit a ball and it just shot off of his bat.
  2. I think the comparison is fine. They have a similar number of PA/AB. Carter has K'd about 30 more times in about 20 more at bats, but he also has a 325 OBP compared to Davis 301. An out is an out in my opinion and I dont much care how he gets on. Base runners are base runners.
  3. I look at nsbb often. I don't have a problem with the Cubs as much as others, and my grandma is a lifelong Cubs fan, so that's probably why. But to answer your question, they went through a faze where they really went after him and his sucktitude. His defense is great though, so some people laid off the guy.
  4. Yea, I am never surprised that the schedule seems odd. I dont understand how it doesnt rotate...but, whatever. I sure would prefer the home opener to be on a weekend for once, so I could actually get to one!
  5. What I find funny is Jim Joyce calls time, but the 'play' is still live. Why did he decide to let 2 players cross and then call time? I am pretty sure I read the bases were loaded. The first 2 runs counted and they made the other guy stop at 2nd even though no one went to go get the ball that was still laying there because it was clearly a foul ball.
  6. I went to a game earlier in the year and sat next to cubs fans who drove up to watch the crew play the Reds. The lady told me they live about 15 miles from Wrigley and it is quicker for them to drive to Milwaukee than to Wrigley. Then she went on to gush about the atmosphere and the stadium. Was a surprisingly nice conversation we had.
  7. If you are talking about his out at 2b I disagree. He saw the outfielder take a lazy route to the ball and broke for 2nd. He made it in safe but over slid the bag because he was going a million miles an hour. Unfortunately a bad over-slide but I wouldn't say it wasn't smart base running. Garza in top form again tonight. As an ultimate Garza hater I am shocked by his recent run. Same thing I was thinking.
  8. Why do you think that? I thought it was an okay idea. Fowler seemed to be moving slowly to the ball and Braun did make it in there. Slid 2 inches to far. He would have been in scoring position with 1 out.
  9. Couple of tough luck runs for Davies...broken bat, infield single plus an error.
  10. Shocker. Ball 4 called strike 2 and strike 3. Unreal.
  11. I see what you did there! It sure is interesting watching how bad umpires strike zones are. I don't care to see the k zone every pitch, but it is fun watching balls called strikes that are clearly off the plate.
  12. Yea. I am growing tired of seeing Kirk getting starts over younger potential future pieces.
  13. I get it...but I don't like that they get to assume he wouldn't have scored. Well you can't assume that he would've scored. If there was no contact presumably Jaso would've been able to get to the ball faster and the play at home was pretty close with the contact. I understand it, but couldnt you also say you can't assume he wouldn't have scored? To me the play should count. Take judgement out of it. Just me though.
  14. This really doesn't make sense. How does Arcia not be allowed to score there? Why even leave it up to the umpire to make that judgement?
  15. except you don't know that, you're just making an assumption based off one incident. Yes very good, I said probably. He checked himself into a month long rehab. 100% he has some bad alcohol issues(maybe marijuana) and if you think he hasn't driven drunk many times before...well...that's pretty positive thinking by you. You don't check into rehab because you drank a few and drove drunk by accident once. You check into rehab because you have a serious problem and it didn't happen just once. Maybe. It could be a PR thing too(Manziel?). I am not sure how much he truly had, but it is possible that he does have a serious issue. It is also possible that he is trying to save face. I would be surprised if he stays for the entire month. I say this as someone who has dealt with this situation with a family member. It was more to save face than anything else. If that makes sense.
  16. Wily looked great. I didnt get to watch most of this game, but it appears Garza looked sharp?
  17. He just threw a nasty slider to Carp. Bill says it didn't move much...but it looked like it on my tv.
  18. I don't think so. How would you even see that on your TV? The fact Scooter Gennett saw it was fair and then acted like it hit him square in the balls tells you it definitely did not hit his foot. When I rewound it it looked like it picked up some different spin. He looked directly down at his foot after it. I didnt get the impression he got hit in the jewels. My 4k tv could be wrong, but I'm still going with grazed his foot. Plus, I feel these guys are so hardwired to run after hitting it that he would have at least moved a little out of the box. I didn't see that reaction.
  19. Looked like it grazed his foot. Unrelated. There are 2 cardinals fans behind 3rd base that keep making hand gestures to the camera. They are tools.
