  1. Illinois should be a solid team next year if I remember.
  2. I know it sounds laughable but seriously if they go the other way and be patient by taking some pitches that are on the outside or look for a 1st pitch fastball on the outside corner for a strike and simply take it up the middle or away to the opposite field they will beat the Cards or score runs to keep it close or take the lead by battling back. This is how the Cards "make" you beat them, and why they are so.... good. So, do it and beat them this way. Enough of this let's swing at everything and pull everything crap. If they don't adjust today I'm going to go crazy. After tonight they should know this by now. No excuses. I am going to say this, every team pitches away for the most part. Estrada included. Now, I wasnt able to watch the game last night, but I would be curious as to why the Cardinals hit Estrada better then we hit Miller. Did they get most of their hits the opposite way? You talk like hitting a 96 mph baseball where you want to on command is an easy task, that's what's laughable.
  3. Whew, glad that's settled. Just hit the ball to the opposite field. I just sent t team a tweet, go oppo every ab and we can beat these guys.
  4. Most teams try to pitch away. It's not just the Cards. Lance Lynn Pitching Hot Zones. http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/hotzones/_/id/30820/lance-lynn Garza Hot Zones http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/hotzones/_/id/28528/matt-garza
  5. The second half of the article explains it. With runners on 1st and 2nd, a player in the OF can catch the ball and wait for the runners to retreat to their bases then drop the ball from their glove to the ground, then pick it up and throw to the SS. It could result in a double play if they tag the guy who was on second and now needs to advance and then step on second base for the force out of the guy on 1st. Dave Cameron points out that the likely worst case scenario of trying it is you would still get atleast one out. This play actually kind of happened the other night when I was watching the Angels game. A man was on second and there was a routine pop fly to Hamilton. Hamilton caught it and when he went to grab it out of his glove he dropped it. The guy on second ran towards third, and then he ran back towards second. After review they said it was no catch. I was stunned and amazed that they said it wasn't a catch. I too hope someone messes with that rule. A short fly ball into the outfield would seem like a perfect time to try it. If the runners are standing on the bag, they drop it and whip it into second, tag the guy and then step on the bag. There would be so much confusion it would be hilarious to see.
  6. Actually they failed to go the other way with the ball and pulled everything. That's why. Nope, just missed balls down the middle.
  7. They aren't hitting anything. Because they are trying to pull right? I don't have the game on tv... Not sure, doesn't really look like it.
  8. So I was reading that Reynolds has the highest ops on pitches that end with fastballs, and that Lynn has thrown the 2nd most fastballs. Stinks we aren't seeing Reynolds today.
  9. I don't want to own one. Just because people enjoy the logo it doesn't mean that they want to purchase it.
  10. I got one once and handed it to my GF of the time. It settled the crowd nicely, as they were starting to chant, "give it to the kid, give it to the kid." It was the first and only ball I have ever gotten so I wasn't about to hand it to someone random.
  11. I thought I read somewhere that there was more than one ultimate warrior. I feel like that would be challenging to do, but I am not a huge wrestling buff.
  12. Are you counting the 2nd out on the bases as the line drive that was caught and got Ramirez out at 2nd? If so, I would hardly put any blame on Ron for that one.
  13. Yea, it stinks. If Union would have lost to Darmouth, or Ferris State to Bemidji State its possible the Badgers would move up. Now it looks like they will have to beat Minnesota to even have a shot at a 1.
  14. I don't know a whole lot about wrestling but my brother does a lot of smaller shows around Wisconsin. He usually gets the main event matches against former wrestlers/old ones. In a few weeks he is wrestling Jake the Snake in fond du Lac if anyone goes.
  15. Watch the replay and tell me where the contact is. The only argument you could make is Knight clipped her right foot as she was trying to catch up but if that had happened she wouldn't have been able to bring her foot forward as she did. It was a horrendous call. I'm not arguing that they choked at the end of the 3rd, their defensive positioning was horrendous and I could've handled a loss in OT pretty much any other way because it would've been decided by the players. Not two phantom calls against us. Yea, both calls were really bad imo. The issue I have is with the choice of refs. I havent looked it up, but I would be curious to see if they just werent prepared/ready with the speed of a US/Canada game. Even the first game had missed calls all over.
  16. Speaking of women's hockey, I was reading an article that talked about how the IOC was talking about taking it out of the winter games because it is dominated by USA/Canada. Maybe we should get rid of all of the other sports that are dominated by other nations. Pretty sure I saw the Netherlands(or something) win all 3 medals in a speed skating event.
  17. I missed it, what happened? I saw there were a lot of penalties.
  18. They're supposed to spread them out over the length of the sandwich. If you've seen a pattern of it happening, you should write a complaint email to Subway. I've actually asked them to spread them out, and sometimes they look at me like I'm just being a pain, sometimes they just say "sure" and appease me. My Mom used to manage a Subway, she can't believe that I see this so often, but I do... Again, isn't it just common sense. I don't think I'd have to be trained to know to spread them out. I always wonder if when they make their own sandwich to take with them or whatever, do they pile up all THEIR ingredients in the middle? I bet they don't. I bet they spread them out... I cannot say I have ever seen that. I have however, seen the worker load up the sauce while putting the meatballs on. Needless to say, that sub was impossible to eat because of the sogginess of the bread.
  19. Yea, I have a few friends that entered into it for years. I lost touch with them however and havent heard if they still do it. The competition is always fierce. As far as online, I played in one and you needed a controller in order to be competitive.
  20. Yes. I still play it on my top loader. Tampa is my favorite team to use because they aren't very good outside of Haddix. Vinny can run a little bit and there are a few plays that you can throw to Carrier where he jumps every time. I've played the online version and even played against two guys who took 2nd and 3rd in the huge tecmo tournament in Madison.
