  1. There is a page on Facebook called Ballpark Chasers that will give you tons of information on every stadium in the league. It is a really informative group. Just make a post asking the same thing there and you will be reading advice for an hour. lol I plan to hit Fenway, Phillies, Nationals, Orioles, Yankees, and Mets next summer in one trip. I've already been to the Yankees and Mets, but the guys I'm going with have not. https://www.facebook.com/groups/8517293041
  2. Trade him, and pay 1/2 of his contract? 1/2 might not be enough...
  3. I sure wish we didn't make this list...
  4. Sorry dude, I can't agree with anyone that says phones are not distracting. I'm not even talking about people who talk on their phones through their car. I'm talking about the constant amount of people I see with their physical phones on their ear, or holding up to their mouths while trying to maneuver in traffic, through round-abouts, and such. It's just disgusting to me that there so many people out there willing to put the safety of others at risk while they talk on the damn phone. If it was only them at risk, I couldn't care less, but with their absolute selfishness, they are fine with risking the lives of others.
  5. Yup, makes sense. With all the distracted drivers on their damn phones while driving, it is no wonder there are more accidents and more deaths. Of course, those of us who don't do that crap have to pay for those that do. I am always shocked and appalled every time I get in the car and go someplace, at the amount of people paying more attention to their phones than the road. It is truly an epidemic. While on the subject, I'm also damn sick and tired of people on their phones when lights turn green, and having to sit there while they finally figure out they can go. Just freaking p's me off to no end. Happens all the time, and I mean ALL the time!
  6. What is the deal with Eric Brown? Still hasn't played since getting hit in the face on Wednesday, but no concussion and no fractures. Have they put him on the IL, or just giving him some days off to gather himself?
  7. Did someone say they wanted that line-up tonight? If so, I don't see it.
  8. Man, what a difference it makes when you have a catcher than can hit. Plus, he isn't nearly as slow as your average catcher. Night and day difference to what has been at that position the past couple of years. Now, if only CC can figure out that it's ok for Contreras to DH once in a while when he isn't catching.
  9. Brosseau is a roller coaster ride at 3B. I'd like to get to a place with our OF that Anderson can just take over full time at 3B and be done with it. Get Tyrone back into the fold, and hopefully we won't need Anderson in RF very much.
  10. Voit may have just saved the game right there!
  11. REALLY stupid throw Adames. Geez.
  12. This STILL pisses me off!
  13. I picked Miley up in a fantasy league for pitching depth, and because he's a Brewer having a good year, just sitting on the waiver wire. If I start him, he probably gets shelled. If I bench him, he probably continues his dominance. I left him on the bench, taking one for the team.
  14. They have spelled Garcia wrong the last two nights now. lol Anyone know anything about Eric Brown Jr? He hasn't played since getting hit it the face Wednesday, even though the reports were good, no fractures, no concussion...
  15. I truly have no idea what that even means, but with a jump like that, I wouldn't be surprised.
  16. Yup, he has thought of that too. He has some feelers out there. 🙂
  17. #1 is low income, he doesn't qualify #2 he contacted, waiting for reply #3 he contacted, waiting for reply #4 are all $1100 ish. There is one available in that complex for $950 but that was a termination lease, so in August, it will go up to match the others in price. #5 is also low income. Thanks for looking around though, like I said, he has searched high and low, as have I. lol
  18. What are the odds? Even if it did happen, it's one game, or just a part of a game you'd have to deal with it. DHing Contreras far outweighs that risk.
  19. He already switched car insurance. Best deal he could find still cost him $100 more, but that is better than $200. He was no longer under my policy, so that didn't have anything to do with it. I haven't come across anything in that price range, and he has looked high and low. He doesn't qualify for low-income housing either. He did find a place that did 2.5 rather than triple the cost of the rent, so he might try that place. Biggest issue is that his choices are severely limited, he is stuck with basically no choices and will have to take whatever he can get.
  20. Related to the housing stuff in the "pointless" thread, but this is about the renting world, not housing sales. My son just got his first real job, straight out of grad school. His job is in Missoula Montana. Before asking why Montana, it's a simple answer really, he loves it out there and the area provides all he NEEDS for his adventurous spirit. This is a kid who has completed the Appalachian Trail (took him about 5 months) and the Pacific Rim trail (also about 5 months), so a state like Montana provides him with what he needs to be happy in life. lol He is temporarily staying with an acquaintance (who is charging him $800 a month for a bedroom in the basement) in a nearby town to Missoula, and looking for an apartment. The location isn't ideal, and he really wants to be in Missoula, rather than the 30 minute commute to and from work. What is bugging me is the fact that all these places renting apartments require proof that you make triple the cost of rent before they will even look at your application. I'm talking about triple your take home pay, not your your gross pay. He is taking home about 3,000 per month (just under 50K Net per year), so any apartment that is over $1000 per month is out of his reach. I'm not even complaining about the actual rent cost, which is out of control, but just the fact that the poor kid can't even apply to rent anywhere because he doesn't make enough money , and almost everywhere he has found is $1200 or above. I'm not even complaining about his sucky payscale, but that can and will improve in time. Just doesn't seem right. Also, he has to pay between $30-$40 to submit an application to every place he applies for. These places are making a mint on application fees alone. It's just gross. Even worse, he can't fill out the applications anyway because he doesn't meet the first requirement of triple your take home pay. On top of all that, when submitting an application, they also require a deposit of $500 or more. So if someone is applying at 3 different places, they are on the hook for $1500, and they might not be accepted in any of those places. Yes, if they aren't accepted, they get the deposit back, but not the $30-$40 application fees. That deposit is a lot of money to pay out even if you get it back, for someone starting out. Geez, these kids do the right thing, get an education, then meet nothing but roadblocks when they finally get a job. Not to mention, he has to wait 90 days for his insurance with his employment to kick in, but I won't get into that. Also, his car insurance jumped about $200 every 6 months just by moving states... It's all pretty deflating.
