  1. I wish I could split loyalties between teams, I'd probably be a lot happier, but I have nothing but hate for any team that threatens my Brewers in any way. Which means I hate every team but the Brewers. I have more hate for some teams than others, Cardinals, Red Sox, etc, but in the end, I am only a fan of one team. I am fiercely loyal, and do not, under any circumstance, understand how anyone could possibly be a fan of more than one team. It just doesn't compute with my being.
  2. If we are going to rely on Winker and Naquin as outfielders with any substantial amount of playing time, while we have guys like Frelick and Wiemer just banging on that door, it will be a travesty. EVERY game counts (as we once again found out last season), we need to put the best team on the field from day one. If that means Frelick starts from the 1st game on, so be it.
  3. Found this on another site, thought it was pretty interesting: Lou Brock is a member of the HOF based primarily on over 3000 hits, former steal king and a great playoff resume. Today's analytical stats present a different picture. Lou's WAR resume ●45.3 career WAR ●32 WAR7 ●2.8 WAR/162 Average HOF LFer WAR ●65.1 career WAR ●41.6 WAR7 ●4.8 WAR/162 Brock ranks last among 21 HOF LFers in WAR/162. Shockingly he never even had a 6 WAR season. Lou has a career 109 OPS+ which ranks dead last among HOF LFers. According to JAWS, Brock ranks 37th all time in LF. He's sandwiched between Matt Holliday and Brett Gardner.
  4. I'll enjoy a shorter game watching on TV, but in person, at the ballpark, I think I might feel a bit cheated.
  5. ummm, actually, Lux was slated to be their opening day SS and get the bulk of starts there this season.
  6. I'm telling you guys, if Frelick has a GREAT spring, he will start on the opening day roster. Especially if Taylor is out for a significant period of time. There is nothing wrong with starting two rookies in the OF if they have earned it. So far so good!
  7. ...will they come calling asking about Adames?
  8. If a trade with BAL doesn't happen now, before Henderson and Rodriguez get a true foothold in MLB, it won't happen. The deadline will be way too late, by that time, one or both could be superstars!
  9. Machado is still a punk. I can't forget, or forgive...
  10. I don't know about everyone else, but 2 1/2 hour games seem too short.
  11. Not sure some of those are right. I spent $7.50 for a hot dog at Miller, er, um, AmFam field last year. It cost me $15 for a hot dog and soda. Is a beer really $3 at Coor's Field? Wow!
  12. Looks like cheaper prices means smaller as well. Junior Hot Dogs and Junior nachos for $4. Price may be lower, but it looks like you are going to get a lot less too. I'm skeptical of the whole thing, we'll see what it's all like in person.
  13. I do, enough is enough of the ridiculous price gauging.
  14. Ok, I'm outnumbered. I'll just crawl back into my corner and agree with the rest of you, even though imo, if he wanted to spend more, he could. Hell, he even admitted it last year, but according to him, there were no players available that he wanted to spend it on.
  15. So frustrating as a fan to see this current pitching window wither on the vine. If ever there was a time to spend, this was it, but it seems that isn't going to happen, so I have accepted it and moved on. I will never be an apologist for billionaire owners or management. If we truly wanted to win, we would have added some more bats this offseason or in the past 3 seasons. Instead, we will mottle our way through another season, hoping to make the playoffs, then if we don't cry foul on the system, and how small market teams just can't compete. I mean really, just pony up within this window and see what happens. If it didn't work out, at least we ACTUALLY tried, rather than just lipservice and signing guys like McCutchen to prove we were trying. Again, if ever there was a time to spend some money, that time was the last 3 seasons when we knew we had top notch world series quality pitching. We chose not to, and as long as the fans are buying the poor us routine, that will only continue. It's hard damn work being a Brewers fan.
  16. I have a gut feeling that this will be a lost season for Ashby. On and off the IL all season with more questions than answers. It just feels like it will be an ongoing issue. Best case scenario is that he overcomes it in the end, and is good to go for the 2024 season and beyond. I don't want to talk about any worst case scenarios. :(
  17. Meh, I doubt it. The chances of Voit coming in and displacing Rowdy are pretty slim. We know what we have in Rowdy, Voit has not been good recently. Maybe an attempt at catching lightning in a bottle, but I think Rowdy's at bats are safe.
  18. So THAT is what we are doing with the extra 750K we saved with Burnes arbitration money.
  19. I'm sure all the current contracts would be grandfathered into any new deal. There would probably be a feeding frenzy by the large market teams to sign as many big contracts as they could before the deal kicked in.
  20. Speaking of Rosenthal, has he signed with anyone? If not, we should kick the tires so we feel like we got something in our trade.
  21. It's a system that the players voted for, correct? If that is the case, why do so many of them ***** and complain? Stupid.
  22. and suddenly our wealth of starting pitching has taken a hit...I'm sure our next move is to look on the scrap heap and see what is out there for next to nothing.
  23. Angels just signed him.
  24. Chourio is not in any way a comparison to Grisham. I mean, those two guys are on totally separate planets.
