  1. Completely agree. Just so risky, and if he fails, it would be a really bad thing for a team like the Brewers. I'd rather stick $ into a proven player than take this gamble.
  2. I don't think Rowdy would be a "key" part of the trade, but he could definitely be a piece...
  3. Another option would be what we did for a really long time, which is the team/players/doctors deciding who can and can't play based on how they feel ... otherwise we can probably adjust to Covid inactives as a permanent thing. So are you saying that if they test positive, but feel fine, they should be allowed to play?
  4. You poor soul. I wasn't concerned for myself. I'm vaccinated and boostered and wore a n-95 mask with gloves because I knew it was a covid house. I just thought it was rather thoughtless of someone to do that while not knowing the status of the person at the door. It was thoughtless, completely. It's gotten to the point that I expect nothing more though now-a-days. People are generally selfish and inconsiderate in all walks of life, in all situations.
  5. of course they are...
  6. I truly do not believe we will be players on Cruz. Knowing Stearns, if he signs a guy to DH, he will also have some ability to play in the field, Cruz does not. Doesn't fit the DS model. Yes, we have had Rowdy and Tellez, both one trick ponys on defense, but that is another reason I think we stay away from Cruz.
  7. Agreed. I don't feel like BA doing only 50 games total, that he will know the ins and outs, the daily grind of the team.. If anything, he will feel like the fill-in.
  8. Ray Lewis says hello...
  9. I put the odds at Rodgers playing the Seattle game at 99.999% He is eligible to come off the COVID list Saturday, I doubt he needs a lot of extra time to be ready unless the virus has taken a toll on his health, which has not been reported.
  10. yeah, all those old threads have been bumped, which can be confusing if you read the titles. I'm with you...
  11. So you think our outfield was effective offensively?
  12. This is why I think Stearns is going to work some magic, since apparently we are not worthy of any of the top free agent talent... I think he finds a way to sign a big bat, and trade for another one. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-predictions-offseason-2021-22?partnerId=zh-20211107-497523-mlb-1-A&qid=1026&utm_id=zh-20211107-497523-mlb-1-A&bt_ee=5IUTod%2Fs70aQrZ2UctcqRbPKjlK08ouplffpkm9fmBFUe%2BA0MEW81kaK2bynbyCv&bt_ts=1636296153401
  13. ok, silly me...
  14. tv announcers what you want huh?
  15. Good for us!
  16. Agreed. I don't believe he'd accept it, either. Unless for some reason he over inflates his own market potential. There is quite the glut of corner OF power bats set to hit the market, so it is possible he might take the easy payday, rather than sit around on the market, where the chance remains that he may only get offers similar to the contract he just played under. always the possibility...
  17. I think he had a pretty good season, and if he wants to cash in on it now, this is the time. If he were to be injured next year, or have a down year, it would obviously effect his next contract. I think for him personally, he made the right decision. The decision isn't quite over yet. He turned down the $12 million option, which was a given. The Brewers need to decide whether to now extend a $18.4 million one-year qualifying offer. If he accepts that (should it be offered), he is essentially on a one-year deal, and will hit free agency again next year. Yup, but I don't think he would accept it, better off trying to get that 4 year 60 million deal and be all set...
  18. I think he had a pretty good season, and if he wants to cash in on it now, this is the time. If he were to be injured next year, or have a down year, it would obviously effect his next contract. I think for him personally, he made the right decision.
  19. They also have JBJ, so Yelich, Cain, Taylor and JBJ. that is a 4 man rotation, and I really hope they add another big bat outfielder.
  20. meh, Rowdy is young, and very well could be part of a re-build if they see value in him.
  21. I'm to the point that BA's absence annoys me. If we are only going to have him for less than a 1/3 of the season, maybe it's time to cut him loose. I like the consistency of the same guys every game. I'm starting to not view him as a Brewer announcer, but instead, a fill-in.
  22. Which probably means they will have to wait out the market for a while like they did with Moustakas and Grandal. Most of the top end guys are going to be looking for longer contracts.
  23. ...and that line of thinking right there is a problem.
  24. Look, I get it, we are stuck with him, and it would be stupid to cut him now, but I would give him a very short leash, and if he hasn't produced something offensively by the end of May, I'd cut him loose and eat the salary. We can't afford to keep him on, waiting the entire season for the good JBJ. By that time the damage has been done. Give him a shot at the 4th or 5th OF, and see where that leads, but please, for the love of God, don't count on him as a starter or a guy that will give us meaningful at bats.
  25. He's an extremely inconsistent player who has had great seasons and bad seasons. Last season was the worst of his career. To confidently declare that he will not be better in 2021 makes little sense given the lack of any major injury. There's reason to be optimistic. To confidently say there is reason to be optimistic makes little sense given the putrid year he had last season.
