  1. Pretty damn risky for a sport that seems to be dying out with viewership. Took a lot of people years to come back from the '94 strike, this time it may be longer. This is just plain stupid.
  2. Bad news, too bad this will ruin one of our window years with this pitching staff...
  3. Once the new CBA is finished, so probably sometime next spring. So it sounds like we won't be able to sign a strict DH type like Cruz until we know for sure, putting American league teams ahead of National league teams in the pecking order to sign free agents. *not that I want Cruz, just using him as an example.
  4. How soon before we know if the DH will be a thing in 2022?
  5. This year's team was a blast to watch. Tons of hitters, which normally, the T-Rats lack. Probably the move to A+ maybe?
  6. I thought the same thing, but I'm sure voting will take place soon...
  7. Hopefully Tyrone Taylor will be one of the choices for the Fan's Choice bobble.
  8. Who is Turing?
  9. Man, that JBJ signing was a total and complete train wreck.
  10. Yea he's certainly scrambled and gotten desperate. However, I was just thinking how the current state of Dodgers pitching could probably be argued started from the trickle down from having to play the WC game and use Scherzer there. Basically exactly one of the effects the WC game was supposed to have in giving the division winners an advantage. Of course it's hurt more in this situation due to Bauer/Kershaw, but a team having 5 aces or high high level SPs is very rare, having 3 though isn't rare and this is a scenario that could happen from it. without a doubt, and exactly why I wanted the Dodgers to have to go through that WC round to soften up their staff - having to go the full 5 games against SF really left them in scramble mode, too. Not having Kershaw or at least a solid 4th SP has been costly, and having in inconsistent Buehler hasn't given their bullpen the breather it would normally get since Scherzer and Urias are constantly pitching on short rest and not able to pitch deep into ballgames as effectively. Don't worry about the Dodgers, they will just go out and buy the top free agent pitcher for 2022...
  11. Really Hoping for a Tyrone Taylor and Joey Wiemer!
  12. I can't stand the sight of Joc.
  13. Trading a bunch of top rated prospects won't really alleviate their roster crunch though.
  14. I feel so bad for the Dodgers injuries...
  15. They will be announcing the 2022 Bobble line up today, every hour on the hour. I'll list them here: 1. 4/8 - Bobble Boy Series (3 different bobble boys, Udder Tuggers, Brats, and Cascabeles) 2. 4/24 - Garrett Mitchell 3. 5/7 - Paint Your Own Cascabeles Sugar Skull 4. 5/22 - Fan's Choice 5. 6/2 - Udder Tuggers Buddercup Mascot 6. 6/26 - Corbin Burnes 7. 7/3 - Devin Williams 8. 7/31 - Freddy Peralta 9. 8/12 - Birthday Kickball Fang 10. 8/25 - Safari Whiffer 11. 9/9 - Bratoberfest Joey Wiemer
  16. He wasn't that great during the season though. I had him on 2 fantasy teams, and I had him benched most of the time.
  17. Just a new take on things, different way to see things should help... It was a move that had to be done. This makes me happy.
  18. but how has that worked out in the last 40 years? I mean, it's been since 1982 that we made that trip to the WS. I mean... I dont care about 1982? I dont see why that matters, the league is not the same as it was 40 years ago. baseball has expanded, the brewers have switched leagues. if in the expanded, reshuffled league, teams like Tampa, KC and Cleveland have made it, the Brewers have just as likely of a shot. 82 doesn't matter, I was giving your post some context. We haven't been in the WS since 1982, something is wrong with that. It matters because you are hanging your hat on 3 small market teams that had some success against the odds. That surely doesn't mean that all small market teams will see that same success. If the current system is set up so that small market teams "might" make the WS every 40 years or so, then your positive outlook becomes a little sad. I hope KC enjoyed their little run, because there is a chance they never sniff the WS again. What TB does is just crazy, but somehow they find ways. Is Cleveland considered a small market team? I guess I've never considered them small market...
  19. Doesn't Ramirez only have 2 years left on his current contract? Man, it would be tough to give up both of them for 2 years of Ramirez, knowing full well we might have to trade Ramirez before his 2 years are up. Maybe just Mitchell, but I'd hold on to Small. I don't want to trade Small.
  20. Nope, especially since the league is now figuring out that he is not a threat, and if they were pitching around him the past two seasons, that will surely stop in the future now that they know he is not the same player as 2018 and 2019.
  21. I would for sure check into that... Sounds about right, overcharge you, chase you away, then deprive themselves of you coming back, even if they lose money in the process.
  22. but how has that worked out in the last 40 years? I mean, it's been since 1982 that we made that trip to the WS.
  23. I'm just to the point with Spectrum that I don't feel like they value me as a customer. I've been with them for 17 years. If I was a new customer, I could take the same services I am getting now, and cut my bill in half. They do nothing for their loyal customers, and everything to get the new ones. I'm not asking for the moon, I just want to pay reasonable prices. My bill is currently $238 per month. I have high speed internet (basic), the basic cable tv package, no premium channels, no HBO, SHO, etc. Nothing extra. I also still have a landline, but only because if I drop it, my bill actually goes up $10 per month. lol I am going to call to see if they offer any other promotions they can help me out with, but when I have done so in the past couple of years, they just say "sorry, you are already getting the lowest possible price, and there are no promotions that will lower your bill." I used to be able to threaten them with leaving if I can't lower my bill, then they would connect me with a higher up, who would then miraculously come up with a plan that fit my budget. That is no longer the case, now they basically say TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT, and I am almost to the tipping point. If TDS can offer basically the same service for $50-$100 less per month, I will probably be inclined to give them a try. Hell, at worst, if they don't work out, I can go back to Spectrum and get all their NEW customer pricing that they won't give a 16-17 year loyal customer. It's frustrating to say the least. I just don't want to go the streaming route, and have to have 4 or 5 services to get what I want/need. I'm not against paying a little bit more for the convenience, but $238 per month is just ridiculous. I like to turn the tv on, watch what I want, and be done with it... Also, I NEED to be able to watch the Brewers, end of story. I can't imagine not having the option to turn on 99% of their games during the season.
  24. I worked for them for 9 years. if we could swear on this forum, I'd give you a colorful rundown of the way the customers were treated. but I'll just say this. in a word. don't. Thanks for your opinion... Good to know. How are they with pricing compared to say Spectrum?
  25. My area is about to get TDS, anyone have experience with them? No idea of the costs yet though.
