  1. That would outstanding. Especially now that his credibility is completely shot, it doesn't matter what he says anyway, right? Might as well have fun with it and take on a new persona. Unless he goes all Mark Mcgwire and is plays it humble and contrite for the rest of his life. That's no fun though. Oddly enough, I think such an approach might get a lot of fans off his back. And after the third or fourth time he made a fool of a "hard hitting interviewer" with it they might just back off as well.
  2. We all know that Braun will now be questioned about doing so well, with a dose of PED suspicion added in. I wish he'd just run with it and answer with things like: 1. I sacrificed a live chicken. 2. Since I can no longer use modern medicine, I sold my soul to the devil. 3. I'm actually a robot.
  3. Roenicke started off the year by NOT doing the same old things for which he's been raked over the coals repeatedly and some people are now upset? I'm having a hard time wrapping my feeble old melon around this. It seems like blind hatred to me wherein Roenicke is "darned if he does and darned if he doesn't." What's this poor guy got to do to catch a break?
  4. One thing that needs to be considered is that the chances of a successful bunt down the 3b line has to rise dramatically against the shift as opposed to against a normal defensive alignment. Maybe even exponentially.

  6. I have arrived safely back in the homeland. We had a great time... right up until Hawing went wild and got us tossed. Jeebus, I didn't even think Milwaukee had that many cops.
  7. The title pretty much tells the tale. Brewers pick up RR's 2015 option and add an option for 2016. Please don't hurt yourselves. http://msn.foxsports.com/wisconsin/story/brewers-pick-up-2015-option-on-manager-roenicke-add-option-for-2016-032214 Edit: If you do hurt yourself, please provide video.
  8. Agreed! That was crazy. My wife actually was about to leave the room because she couldn't handle it. I'm with you fellers. There was once an episode of M.A.S.H. that was somewhat similar and it was downright horrifying.
  9. Some say "extend Segura now." Others say "wait another year." Why not see how Jean starts off the season and then (if warranted) quietly work with his agent on an extension during the year? If he plays the first couple of months like he started off last year I'd be pretty comfortable with the "he wore down at the end of last season due to his rigorous schedule" theory.
  10. YES! I for one will be happy to see you. Why, thank you very much. I'll be sure to bring extra crazy, just for you.
  11. A Charlie Brown Christmas.
  12. The thought of Braun at 1b is frightening to me. Too many potential double plays requiring a throw from 1b could easily end up as "1 out and a man on 3rd" (if not worse).
  13. More good news, at least for me, as I rather enjoy Aoki. Link: http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/29/brewers-exercise-1-5-million-option-on-norichika-aoki/
  14. I had Gastric Bypass surgery in August of 2007. The surgery, as a general rule, is good for about a hundred pounds and about a year. Where one goes from there is entirely up to them. If one uses that year to truly learn better habits and continues to adhere to them, one will continue to lose. If one thinks they've been granted a "free pass" they will gain back that hundred pounds and oftentimes even more. At first, I was ashamed to admit that I'd had the surgery. It seemed like I had taken "the coward's way out." Now, I'm pretty proud of myself because I've done so well over the long term and continue to do so.

  16. I actually believe this to be true. I think Ned was the right guy to bring our "young guns" along and change the losing culture around the team, but only to a certain degree. The team finally got to where it needed less nurturing and needed more solid managing; and that, he couldn't provide. He appears to have done the same in KC. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get yet another gig with a struggling franchise that has a lot of young talent. Like Milwaukee? (kinda,, sorta, blueish) If that were to happen the fallout from this board alone would melt the entire Internet.

  18. Quite the contrary, the apology part of the statement was really strong. I understand some people want more of the gory details of his PED use, but as far as actual apologies go, I don't know how much more people could want. Agreed. Braun reiterated several times that he did it, he was at fault and he alone. He admitted lying to friends, family, teammates and fans. He even owned up to his poor conduct regarding the collector. Short of going door to door and offering a personal apology to everyone on Earth, there's not much more he could have done. A written statement doesn't mean that he'll never answer questions. He'll have to if he ever wants the circus to end. My guess is that he and his advisors are smart enough to do so on the day A-Rod loses his appeal and/or starts his own suspension. Because on that day, Braun will be small news, having already accepted his suspension, apologized in writing, etc. I would also think that MLB might offer up a statement supporting what Braun says in his statement, as that might get the "witch hunt" tag off of them.
  19. There was little activity throughout MLB at the trade deadline, not just with the Brewers. At the deadline the Biogensis cloud was pretty much hanging over every player on every team, and every GM out there knew it.
  20. There is also the possibility that Braun was using something, but that it was not synthetic Testosterone. Hence the appeal, the "bet my life that substance never entered my body," etc.
