  1. Oh yeah, the WTMJ stuff is pretty bad, but i don't listen enough for it to bother me that much. I disregard almost any celebrity product endorsement right off the bat. That did remind me how much i dislike the "John Malen is God" commercials on Channel 4 You can blame master control at whatever station you watch for commercials being too loud, unless the advertiser pays them to make it louder, which they do, so, um, yeah, keep being mad at them too I love toilet paper commercials, they are my favorite by far, how many ways can you do them without ever REALLY talking about what the product does? It takes immense creativity.
  2. The closest thing to being anywhere near right you said was "1920s"
  3. i am related to this guy http://www.insomniacink.com/Other/nocluehere.jpg Sorry, HighLifeandPeanuts, you are not allowed to guess
  4. Wow, that guy is a bonehead WORSE than Spreewell in my book
  5. Geeze, I forgot my main current beef: Who thought up: You are "saving" money by the bank moving a dollar from your checking to savings every time you make a purchase? or rounding up to the dollar and putting that money in a savings account? I am baffled by this being a selling point, someone please tell me one possible legitimate advantage to this. Oh, and I have ads running on 1250WSSP soon, they are intense, don't be scared by the angry guy yelling at you.
  6. Is this the reason games are lasting longer and longer? Should MLB call a doctor if a game goes 4 hours or longer?
  7. Didn't Greg Maddux start this trend? wink wink
  8. Some of these are out there, my mind did some wandering today 1. On a 2 strike count, a pitch goes wide and gets away from the catcher, how late could a batter swing and then take off for first? If it's past the batter and he sees it will be very wide of the catcher, could he swing and take off? 2. There are runners on base, and a pitch is too close, and the batter charges the mound. Is this automatically a time out? Or could a catcher go start tagging people who come of the bases towards the mound? 3. Draft questions, what are the rule about going back to school if you are high school/early college? A friend of mine's kid was drafted by the Yankees, decline, went back to school and then got drafted by the White Sox next year. Can you keep doing that as long as you want? If you are a college senior and don't sign with your team, what are your options then?
  9. I try to pay attention to advertising, I have a background in TV and always wanted to do advertising Some of the more interesting things I have noticed lately -A furniture company on the radio assuring the viewer "our furniture is made right here in North America!" Come on now, who are you trying to fool? -The ads for "The Happening" say it's from "the director of The Sixth Sense, and Signs" but not a mention of M. Night Shyamalan, they must have figured his name would scare away people after the last 2 bombs I think the Dan Patrick Cousin's ads are just awful, TV and radio, one of the worst campaigns I have seen in a long time. Long John Silver can't even make their food look good on TV, why on earth would I actually eat some? Taco Bell always puts out quality stuff I think, Think Outside the Bun and 4th Meal are both great slogans, High Life ads have been great for quite a while where Miller Lite has been poor for quite some time, especially the "GHT" campaign from a while ago. Just my ramblings on ads, what ones to people like? hate?

  12. I tried this once before, when it was more timely, but closed the wrong tab on my browser and lost everything, so this will be even quicker and dirtier http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41ETKP38W7L._SL500_AA240_.jpg Mudcrutch "Mudcrutch" Hey, it's a Tom Petty album, with a little more twang. I like it, nothing too special or out of the ordinary though. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51%2BOTxoVvVL._SL500_AA240_.jpg Gnarls Barkley "The Odd Couple" I didn't buy the first album "St. Elsewhere" because of the lack of a strong second single (A very par remake of "Gone Daddy Done" didn't do it for me) but this album is solid. Fans of OutKast should like it very much as well. It's very catchy, and good for the whole length. I am a little upset at the 38(ish) min run time though, seems like I should get more for my dollar, and some of the songs seems to bleed together, as in, 'didn't i just hear this?' http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41dbkPBKcBL._SL500_AA240_.jpg Local H - "12 Angry Months" If there is one band I know forwards and backwards it is Local H. For all those thinking, didn't they have that copesetic song? ("Bound for the Floor" off As Good As Dead) That was them, and they have put out 4 albums since. This is their 6th studio effort and like many previous, is a concept album. 12 songs, 1 for each month after a serious and hard break up. I am quite thankful I can't relate to the emotions and thoughts contained in this album, it's pretty brutal. I can't imagine being an artist and putting so much of your life out there and then having to sing it day in and day out on tour. Despite not ever having nearly as a bad an experience I find the album quite good, it's loud, hard rock, it's what I love. However, I don't think Local H will ever be able to top 1998's "Pack Up The Cats" which is without a doubt their best album, and one of the best I own. Local H really excels live though, you will never see 2 people put out so much sound. You can catch them on the East Side at the Summer Solstice fest on June 21st.
  13. The end of the Naveed album by Our Lady Peace, always bugs me, it just kinda ends, and i'm all like "what, thats it?" it just is rocking and bam, its over
  14. I bought a grill, and was all like "oh yeah, cast iron grate, awesome!" Then I come to find out you have to "season it" and there are other rules you need to follow so you don't get the thing all rusty and such What are the basics of cast iron care? What oil do I use to season it, and how often? Is seasoning just putting oil on there? hot? cold? I need steak and this issue is in my way
  15. It looks like I am going to have to go my mom's lawn tomorrow She has been having a kid mow it, but his mower broke, or he moved away, or some such thing She has a mower that was in working order 3 years ago, and to the best of my knowledge, has sat unused (with an empty gas tank) for that period of time What kind of stuff do I need to bring this back to life? I am guessing new plug for sure, what if there has been some gas in there? What other problems might I encounter? Thanks in advance
  16. My impression of Minnesota fans (based on the Crew series last year) was that they have no idea at all what to do They only cheered when the scoreboard told them too, and half-heartedly at that, had no spirit, and in general no interest in being alive, let alone cheering or booing for a baseball game They did boo once, when someone unfurled a 10 foot Bret Favre cut out in the LF stands, out of place, but hilarious none the less
  17. I want to compile a list much like the Jack Bauer lists floating around the internet, and in the same vein as Bill Brasky and Chuck Norris talk (some NSFW language on the links)(all three names have links, only one seems to be underlined though?) What I have, and they might be repeated, so correct me if I have just recycled something I have read or heard: Russell Branyan sweats pure bourbon Russell Branyan has to shave between innings Paul Bunyan was actually Paul Branyan, Russel's great grandfather (stole this one from T B0NE 10) Russell Branyan once laid down a bunt that went 480' Russell Branyan doesn't hit balls, the balls run away from his bat Russell Branyan's sweat has been banned as a performance enhancer Russell Branyan flosses with barbed wire Yes, this might become a shirt or something else, I really don't know, but I just want to get a list going. If this becomes something I use elsewhere, I would ask specific people to use what they come up with.
  18. I am of the opinion that... Next year will bring LF Braun, CF Hart, RF LaPorta Tony Gwynn will not be a Brewer past July 31st 2008 (even though I really like him and want him to be around)
  19. I forgot about the fudge, it is famous state wide, a co-worker made me bring back Peanut Butter Fudge for her from there And, I just saw that the Min-aqua Bats don't start up till June 13th
  20. It seems everyone in the state has been to Minocqua, and rightfully so Great fishin, tons of lakes, World's Largest Musky Shop A very relaxed and toned down Wisconsin Dells, a nice small downtown I would recommend seeing the Min-aqua-bats, it's a free water ski show made up of local youngsters on a local lake, they pass around a bucket for donations I also had good times drinking and eating at The Thirsty Whale
  21. If I were to attend the game, I would stand up and cheer for him, do you think this will happen? I would have cheered for him regardless of recent events, because I always liked him as a Brewer
  22. I would love to SEE the Branyan shot (thanks FSN) as soon as it is somewhere, I would love a link or something Houston feed? Would they put that clip up? Certainly there is a video crew that follows him around (making an eventual Oscar winning documentary), they must have got it! I would settle with just knowing how many rows deep it went, Dunn's was 2 rows deep.
  23. I have never heard of ride spoilers before, haha Did they tear something down to make this? Or did they convert the space shuttle again? I was under the impression they just jazzed up the line on the way to the current Batman coaster. I love every ride there except for Iron Wolf (Rolling Thunder sucked, but it's gone now) I actually blacked out in a corner on Iron Wolf, that has never happened anywhere before or after, something that did not make me feel good about that ride at all, oh, and the, um, "man parts" issue with the harness.
  24. I feel something important was left out, this is my version http://www.insomniacink.com/Other/America%20copy.jpg It is my desktop, and I really like it also, we need to do photoshop contests, just like fark.com There is defiantly a talent pool here
