  1. Dunn shot is here: http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/multimedia/tp_archive.jsp?c_id=cin&ym=200708 Aug 17th Two Run Homer Hit Tracker calls it 467'
  2. I think it's a different problem than power It's not like he is hitting the ball just to the warning track, instead of over the wall I will take that steak though
  3. To be fair, I don't remember seeing the Branyan ones (whichever it is), I am just putting the Dunn one up against the folklore I have always heard
  4. The Maddux one is the one I was referencing, how accurate is 480' though?
  5. I love Branyan just as much as the next guy, but Jim Powell just credited him with the longest HR at Miller Park I know it's a very arbitrary measuring system, but I would think Adam Dunn's monster shot into the Dew Deck last year would trump Branyan's A note on the Dunn shot, it is the most impressive homer I have ever seen in person, and it also (in my mind) was one of the last few blows to my hopes for last season
  6. jeeze. didn't make it 15 min. best game ever.
  7. I think bringing non-Brewers into this is whole different can of worms we need not explore Is there a picture of Helling with that lumber in his arm?
  8. I don't mind Berman that much, I hate Stu-ya Boo-ya I have fond memories of watching him on NFL Primetime when I was 12-15 Fav Berman, for Tampa Bay "The Pirates of Pewter Pants" very clever
  9. I figured a couple rounds of this could be fun Clues: Played on 3 different teams, all 3 in the same league Placed 3rd, 2nd, and 3rd in MVP balloting during a 3 year stretch of his career Played games in the 80s 90s and 00s
  10. Well, I don't know everything about the matter, but I don't know that you can really ban the use of names like "Cubs" and "Tigers." I think a different design with that name would stand up in court, but I am sure no one wants to try. I don't think there is a problem with buying licensed stuff and wearing it, in terms of hats. If you marry a hat with a "generic" uniform though, I think that shows you are not that "generic" I never played little league, but I would not have wanted to on a real team other than the Brewers or Indians, why would a kid in Milwaukee want to be an A or a Ranger?
  11. I would say Torres until there is a good reason not too
  12. How can you compare these two things? Playing at home is a clear advantage for any team because of the opportunity to bat last. That's an advantage even before you consider things like the home crowd, familiar stadium, no travel, etc. I am of the opinion that the team is just plain playing bad right now, and thinking the amount of roads games is a large factor in that is just as arbitrary as blaming the Padres record on a lack of day games.
  13. What about Rick Helling?
  14. Take the kids completely out of the equation Majestic payed a LOT of money to get the rights, no one else should make a PROFIT off them If you could prove the uniforms were done for cost, I would be OK with it, but I think that would too hard to regulate and monitor 100% with Majestic, MLB, and the law
  15. Time Warner was planning to do a "Headline News" type news (24/7) back in 2003 or so, but changed their minds I think the current local news in Milwaukee is one of the most abysmal, non-informative, sensationalized, and useless things on TV Most of it is a regurgitation of the news paper... imagine that in 2008 the news paper drives news in a market Channel 4 just ran a long story on where Milwaukee Cougars (middle aged women looking for young men) go drinking, thats just the latest thing that sticks out in my mind, I could rant for hours about what a steaming pile of dung this market puts out as "news"
  16. home or away, we are pretty crappy right now The White Sox have only played 2 more home games than us, and seem to be in first place The Padres have a winning record during the day, but have only played 14 day games, therefore they just need more day games to turn this around
  17. I agree 100%, I never bought he was hurt for a second
  18. Look for tix the day of, from Ticketmaster, the band should release ones they have reserved for fam and such, they should also open some up when they set up the stage to see whats obstructed I got 2nd row Violent Femmes tickets the day of (way back when they played the Marcus with the Goo Goo Dolls) I also checked for fun (already had good tickets) and could have gotten Tom Petty tickets the day of both shows with Pearl Jam pitchleague: this is just the rock stage, mostly bands you would hear on 102.1, some who don't get any radio play I am aware of that is a decent line up from a name standpoint, but, not what it has been in years past i think, a lot of yearly staples (which is fine) and bands a little past their mainstream prime (which is also fine) I think Skillet is from Kenosha, someone told me thatWilly Porter is local Alkaline Trio is from Chicago, and has a local feel
  19. The 07 Cubs were 9 games under .500 in June *edit* I think the Tigers and Padres fans have the most to be upset about
  20. I think we should get no hit, maybe it's the kick in the behind we need, although, I think we have been kicked plenty already Didn't we (briefly) turn it around after getting no hit last year? I don't have the numbers *edit* Found some numbers, we won 13 of our next 16 after the Detroit game last year
  21. I would agree that WHIP is the closest to best Until they develop a better stat which I am sure they are working on The TBAtROBaNBF Total Bases Allowed to Runners On Base and New Batters Faced
  22. Summerfest just seems to be mostly the same bands year after year now a days, however Sevendust is always good I have always wanted to see Alkaline Trio, I recommend them highly Cracker is also someone I never got around to seeing 311 at the Miller Lite Oasis is probably the best side stage act announced so far Goldfinger/Less Than Jake will be a fun show Gnarls Barkley might be worth checking out too, I am digging the new album *edit* Everyone should go to The Summer Soulstice Fest on the East Side June 21, 2008 It's free, lots of good food, it's fun, and LOCAL H is headlining. They do not disappoint live.
  23. Didn't the Olympic Committee start allowing athletes with sex change operations to compete as their switched sex? I will never be fully convinced you can make artificial legs/blades to be an exact match and output of real flesh and blood.
  24. The current headline on the Brewers sight is Pinky and the Braun: Crew powers past Cards I find that to be a rather obscure pop culture reference, and wonder how much of the general public would "get" it How many people here do? Please no one explain it right off the bat, I am curious to see
  25. I can confirm that they do play Marilyn Manson "The Beautiful People" still, on opening day for sure, and this past Friday as well I don't think they should though.
