  1. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/p...p;fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb The first three rounds as well as the two compensation rounds will be Tuesday night, 6/9. The first round will be televised live on the MLB Network. Rounds 4-30 will be on Wednesday, 6/10, and rounds 31-50 will be on Thursday, 6/11. I'm only disappointed because I have tickets for the Brewers/Rockies on 6/9 and won't be able to watch the draft live.
  2. Yeah, I really don't understand why you don't double switch there and put Counsell in for Hardy. If we score, great, go get Hoffman, if not, we still have Coffey. Counsell's on-deck anyway, so I really don't get what Macha was thinking.
  3. I actually liked downtown more than the Strip, it just felt like old school Vegas. One of the most fun things we did was go to Madame Tussaud's at the Venetian. It's $25, but IMO, well worth it. We must have taken over 100 pictures there just hamming it up and posing with all of the different statues.
  4. Some of the decisions by the Astros tonight really make me question if they even have scouting reports. First the 0-2 fastball to Corey, and now a pitch out with Hardy at first?
  5. Amazing how one pitch can change the course of a game. If they keep throwing Corey sliders, the Astros likely get out of the inning up 2-0. Instead they fall behind 4-2.
  6. So after making Corey look absolutely silly on a slider, Paulino and Pudge decide to throw him an 0-2 fastball right down the middle. What horrible pitch calling. Why even bother with a fastball until you spike a couple sliders in the dirt hoping he chases?
  7. Coffey's bunting? Oh man, this thread will explode if we end up losing this game.
  8. Not sure I like Suppan leading off the 7th. I say be happy with 6 IP and 1 ER. The bottom of the Mets order is due up in the bottom of the inning, so we'll see.
  9. 7 runs on 3 hits. That's beginning to become a trend with Brewer opponents.
  10. That was a fielder's choice in the 9th, not a hit.
  11. What a terrible AB by Kendall. If he does his job and moves Hart to third we have a run on Parra's groundout.
  12. Well, that inning could have been a lot worse. It'd be nice if Suppan could toss a zero up there, though.
  13. Just bought 2 tickets to the April 14 game 8 rows up from the field in section 109 for $19 a piece, what a bargain! Thanks to Jamie, Jake, and the Brewers for this offer!
  14. So, what are the HD channels other than "premium" that you get for free? All the channels except for HDNet, HD Movies, MGM HD, and Universal HD. Basically the HD only channels. If the channel is also SD, then you get the HD channel for free.
  15. TWC charges $8 a month to lease a box regardless of whether or not it's SD or HD. The only thing they charge for is if you get the HD premium channels, otherwise there is no extra charge for HD.
  16. That game between the Dominican Republic and the Netherlands was amazing. Scoreless through 10, the Dominicans score a run in the top of the 11th off of an error. The Netherlands, who hadn't done anything offensively all night, looked dead in the water. However, they manage to score two in the bottom of the inning off of Carlos Marmol (ha!), who blows the game for the Dominicans. This has to be one of the biggest sports upsets in history.
  17. If you made less than $30,000, you can use turbotax.com and the fee to file your state return is only $9.95 if you use this link.
  18. It looks the Fox Sports website leaked the first two months of Sunday night games. It's a surprisingly decent mix of teams, the Brewers are one of only three teams, the Cubs and Red Sox being the others, that appear more than once. Each NY team only has one appearance. April 5 - Braves at Phillies April 12 - Cubs at Brewers April 19 - Cardinals at Cubs April 26 - Yankees at Red Sox May 3 - White Sox at Rangers May 10 - Rays at Red Sox May 17 - Mets at Giants May 24 - Brewers at Twins May 31 - Dodgers at Cubs
  19. I remember when Jenkins hit 5 HR in 2 days in 2001, and on HR 4 or 5 Vasgerian mimicked the classic Bugs Bunny cartoon with "Wham! A homer! Wham! Another Homer! Wham! Wham! Wham!" There was also a game in 2003 when Eddie Perez hit a walk off HR that hit the foul pole, and I remember Uecker yelling "It hit the pole!" over and over.
  20. It looks like the Twins jumped the gun and updated the times of their home games that will be broadcast on FOX Saturday and ESPN Sunday. They have four Saturday games listed at 2:40 or 2:50, and one Sunday game listed at 7:05, May 24 against the Brewers, which was originally scheduled for 1:10. Weird that ESPN would pick Brewers/Twins when Angels/Dodgers, Mets/Red Sox, and Phillies/Yankees are that same weekend, but I'm not complaining about the Brewers finally getting a Sunday night game.
