  1. Micah Hoffpauir is my favorite Cub ever.
  2. Yeah, kudos to the Cubs for playing to win even though they have everything clinched. But if they want to rest all their regulars this weekend in preparation for the playoffs, that's totally cool with me.
  3. RAMIREZ!!!!!
  4. If two teams are tied for one playoff spot, there's automatically a one game playoff. They only use tiebreakers to determine the wild card if two teams tie for a division title, but both make the playoffs anyway.
  5. Well, at least one member of the Brewers will be working this October. TBS announced the broadcast teams for the playoffs, and BA is going to be a play-by-play man for one of the division series. Good for him, he gets a lot of criticism around here, but I find him better than most play-by-play guys out there, and light years better than Daron Sutton. Article
  6. Technically, last season it was NL Central vs. AL West. However, with 6 six in one division and 4 in the other, it created a bunch of scheduling nightmares, and we ended up with Texas, Detroit, and Kansas City. Texas had been the only team the Brewers had never faced in IL. 2010 is the West again, and if we get two series, I'd bet any money we're at Seattle and get Oakland. The A's have never been to Miller Park and the Brewers have never been to Safeco.
  7. Is it me, or are only the first three months working? Interleague is home-and-home with the Twins, home vs. White Sox, and at the Indians and Tigers. Interesting that for the first time ever, the home series against the Twins is mid-week. That'll probably cut down on the number of Twins fans that make the trip. The Brewers brass can't be happy with opening up on a weekend against the Cubs, that takes away one guaranteed sell out.
  8. Braun would have been out by a mile if Iorg had sent him. I think Braun was expecting the ball to go to the wall, but Johnson cut it off in the gap. The ball was in the infield quick enough that they almost got Braun out when we was trying to get back to third. He'd have been a dead duck at home.
  9. The link is actually www.brewers.com/9packpostseason. For the NLDS, I was able to get tickets in the Field Outfield Box, which is where our 9 pack was, although we're on the opposite side of the field, no biggie. Unfortunately, the only options for the NLCS were Club, Terrace, or Bleachers. I chose Club, because my dad and I share the 9 pack, and he absolutely hates the Terrace and Bleachers. We've never sat on the Club level before. Total for two games: $334.
  10. Next season the NL Central faces the AL Central, so the White Sox makes sense since we haven't played them at all since 2001. Also going to Cleveland makes sense, since we haven't been there since 2001 either, they came to Milwaukee in 2006. We'll also have a home and home with the Twins like always. I don't know who our other series would be against, since we've played the Royals and Tigers both home and away in the past three seasons.
  11. Iorg's been with the team since Sept 1, he came up with the callups.
  12. It's really too bad they didn't do this last year when they should have, we could have gotten Torre when he was available.
  13. So this is what $42 million gets you these days, huh?
  14. The first game in the Tigers/White Sox doubleheader was delayed by rain. They're in the top of the 6th now. No way will game 2 start anywhere near on time. It'll be interesting to see what ESPN decides to do.
  15. Good riddance Ned. One positive to this collapse is that we won't have to watch your idiotic managing.
  16. Gwynn? What is Ned smoking? Even Bill is questioning it.
  17. Thanks for the heart attack there, Corey.
  18. Wow, one pitch and we get the run right back, nice job Cam!
  19. Wow, Bush's curve looks nasty today. Got Rollins and Utley swinging. Hopefully that's a good sign.
  20. I don't want to see Rickie start another game this season.
  21. Yost has shifted the lineup a little bit. Brewers RF Corey Hart SS J.J. Hardy 2B Ray Durham 1B Prince Fielder LF Ryan Braun CF Mike Cameron 3B Craig Counsell C Jason Kendall RHP Dave Bush Phillies SS Jimmy Rollins 2B Chase Utley RF Jayson Werth 1B Ryan Howard LF Pat Burrell CF Shane Victorino 3B Greg Dobbs C Carlos Ruiz RHP Joe Blanton Hopefully moving Corey to leadoff forces him to take some pitches.
  22. The Sunday night game is Tigers/White Sox. With all of the rain Chicago has gotten and is scheduled to get this weekend, it's possible that game could be rained out. If that happens, I wonder if ESPN would broadcast the game.
  23. OK heart of the order, it's your turn to finally do something.
