  1. I caught that, too. Why on earth would we move Braun back to 3rd? If they move Hart to CF, as he seems to be implying, then there are two corner outfield spots, which could very easily be taken up by Braun and LaPorta. Plus, there's no guarantee that Prince will be around all that long, so LaPorta may actually be at 1B, leaving another opening in the outfield.
  2. Maybe we could have some sort of, like, initiation period. They can't post right away, but first have to read a certain amount of relevant posts. Obviously there would have to be a way to test out of the initiation period.
  3. Billboards. Lots of 'em. On every highway that leads to Milwaukee. I'll go start on Hwy 41 right now http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. There has been a lot of questions on multi-vitamins lately. Most of the vitamins you get from them are already being consumed enough with a regular diet, and the only people that should really need supplements are most women (iron supplements only) and pregnant women. Not saying this is my opinion, but it's from some research that I've read on the topic.
  5. But why not take the shot when you have it rather than wait to see if you'll get it again later?
  6. Not to bring the Weeks talk back since that's not the topic of conversation, but for the sake of accuracy, Weeks hit .279 in 2006, and it was 359 at-bats so it wasn't a particularly small sample. To sorta bring it back to the conversation, Weeks actually hit better against RHP that year.
  7. I would actually say Weeks is the hot bat...
  8. I never meant to imply that it was actually 1 out of 100. I was just pointing out that you can't point to this one example and say that this is proof that the odds of him getting thrown out are high. If it would take a perfect throw to get him as was suggested earlier, then I imagine the odds of a perfect throw are pretty low.
  9. This makes no sense. If he gets thrown out 1 out of 100 times on that kind of play, it's bound to happen at some point. But that doesn't mean you don't try it.
  10. And an even higher likelihood of scoring with no outs and a man on 3rd. Plus the odds that Hart gets thrown out are pretty drastically low.
  11. I was at that game, too (thanks Pedro!). Did you see where the LFer was? He was practically in center. Weeks hit a line drive down the line and it just took them waayy too long to get to it.
  12. The thing is you can never really expect a perfect throw to 3rd. If it was that close of a play, then I imagine anything thrown a little bit off and he's safe. You can definitely take that chance, no matter how many outs there are. If there are no outs, even better because then you have 2 chances to sacrifice him in or 3 chances to get a hit.
  13. Anyone else notice that we only have one 6 game West Coast trip? And other than that we're only playing one series at a time (and not very many of them) on the West Coast? Something just feels right about this season...
  14. Ah yes, didn't even notice that. Thanks http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. My favorite part of Gameday is a pitch like that last one to Hardy where it looks like it hits the virtual guy's knees. Hilarious.
  16. I find it amazing that they can charge $15 for something you can pick up from most radios. I guess it's more for people out of state, but it still just amazes me. Although it is kinda cool to have gameday and gameday audio up at the same time when TV isn't an option.
  17. What are these changes to Gameday? Am I missing something?
  18. I know FTJ, its just that this whole closer idea has never sat well with me. It works to make money, but so does making the playoffs.
  19. If you have a one-run lead in the 7th, why not use your best reliever to keep it at that one-run lead and keep the other team from gaining momentum. You then give yourself the ability to open up that lead so it's a less stressful situation in the 9th. Really, what's the difference between losing the game in the 7th and losing it in the 9th? Yeah, it's a little more heart-breaking in the 9th, but a loss is a loss.
  20. This is just smart baseball. Is Lou looking for a job?
  21. Just realized this, but won't the broadcast on ESPN be blacked out in Wisconsin?
  22. Technically, there's not very good odds to score a run at anytime. Ever. But if you don't give it a shot then it's worthless. I'm really sick of hearing that we need to save guys for later. Saving PHs for later in the game? Saving Riske for the 10th? Seriously, how can you justify that if you lose the game and that PH never came up to bat late in the game like you planned. It makes absolutely no sense to me. Besides, if it's late in the game and there aren't any more bench players, I don't have a problem with Gallardo PHing (which I can't believe he hasn't done yet).
  23. Could've sworn Gagne was pointed out for HGH, not steroids. Maybe I'm wrong. If Turnbow can put together a few outings like tonight, I think he gets thrown into the formula. At least I hope there's a formula. Oh, who am I kidding... As long as Turnbow's pitch selection isn't fastball, fastball, fastball, fastball, etc., I think he could very much help out. Tonight he threw a lot of breaking balls and looked good. But I agree with Ennder; give Gagne 75% of the save opportunites and mix in the rest. There's no reason to "get the most" out of Gagne just because we're paying him a lot. I would think you would want to protect that investment, not push it.
  24. Isn't there some kind of Man Law about sports over women?
